Regarding NPCs on fields the only thing I agree with is that it must be a pita to mine under constant lock jamming. Maybe we can come up with something for that.

However Arga was using a lot of "I" so I would have to say he was speaking for himself. I just want to say that Arga has been pretty spot on for the most part though.

I know you didn't say cheaper, but if it's not cheaper, then the cost/benefit of building gamma doesn't pan out, because there's no reason to battle over the gamma base, other then the attacker wanting to wipe the offending base off the map; making the cost of owning it too high for the defender in respect to the benefit of owning it.

Yes, we wants 100+ engagements. I don't see it happening over a gamma base, and certainly not over beta.

EDIT: Unless of course, there's a reason to mine the unique gamma ores....

Arga, you confuse the idea of a gamma BASE and a gamma ISLAND. Gamma bases are still worth it, Gamma Islands aren't.

Yea, gamma bases should generate free nic!  That should do it.  Well that would make me want to setup a base or two.  Or three.

Less reason to completely secure gamma islands now, if you can live with constant hauling of minerals in from Alpha, but still plenty of reasons to build a base.

It's not a bad thing and it's only true until Colixum gets more uses.

Keeping NPC's lock jammed stops them cold, but I doubt I can get 2-3 ew mk II pilots to sit there for hours.... mining is tedious, but watching someone mine is even worse.

Or we can add in 20 unique ores, one per gamma island.  You need a very small amount of ore off of each island to produce anything.

Each beta will have a unique plant, same thing.

I could go back and find 1000 posts about (from other players) how creating new islands for miners to 'hide' in would be good for the game. It's not.

My only issue with the ninja mine thing, is that without real PVP to distract players, there will be ALOT of sharks out cruising the beta islands looking for miners, with very effective scanners.

It would be nice to have a stealth miner bot... maybe that needs colixium to build!
