So, basically, it's not looking good? Hmm, glad I didn't get that 4th account. I'll wait and see a bit longer to see what happens, I suppose. Thanks for the information.

I'm from Texas. I saw a few posts back you were from Idaho but, yeah, if Arga (And others who may not be reading this thread) have the issue with this same router, is it possible for the PO devs to do something on their side (With their server, contacting their IP, or something else)?

I hate to put this off onto them as it's not their problem, but I really doubt my IP would change their routing around it for just one customer, heh.

Well, it seems to get worse by the day for me. Every day, it's at least 3 times an hour. Just now, I woke up and logged on -- I have disconnected twice in 10 minutes from the game and was running PingPlotter during both times. Still the same culprit as above.

I'm willing to try almost anything. Is the only solution to try to get my IP to route through a different international node? Or is there anything else I can do? I really enjoy playing PO and have invested a lot of time into it since December, so I'd hate to just up and leave, but you can't play the game disconnecting every 5-20 minutes...hell, when it was bad, I used to just mine and deal with the disconnects but even that is difficult to do now.

Any and all suggestions welcome. And before anyone asks, yeah, I've tried resetting my router, unplugging my modem and let it sit overnight disconnected, etc. Once again, nothing else using my internet is ever affected, so I really don't think it's any problem local, but I'm willing to try all suggestions that anyone can come up with.

Yeah, I've ran PingPlotter through various disconnects of mine, and it always comes back to the same issue. The thing is I RARELY get any lag. I can be running through the island at a cool 150-250ms, then you get the tell-tale sign of a disconnect -- all of your actively running modules "freeze" and everything else stops moving. Then a disconnect is about 5-10 seconds away. I never get any lag beforehand. It's always just random.

After having run PingPlotter through several of these disconnects, as I stated, comes to the same issue. When I disconnect, I get 100% packet loss through: po5.ar2.FRA4.gblx.net (IP: 67.16.133.234)

I had initially posted that I thought this was a node in France, but a corp mate advised me it would be Frankfurt. Either way, that's the node (I guess that's the term) that is giving me trouble and the disconnects every time. I ran PingPlotter through 5-10 disconnects while in the background, and that was the one that showed the 100% packet loss through those times, every time.

If you all need more information from it, let me know, but that appears to be my issue. Arga/TBA -- have you guys run PingPlotter while you were lagging or disconnecting to know which is the problem for you?

So is there any update on this? I don't recall exactly when these started happening for me (I started in December) but I don't recall them happening much at the start at all, so I'm sure my disconnects  started around this time as well (01/22).

And they still happen. Usually every day, multiple times a day. I'm playing fine, NO LAG, then just a sudden disconnect. I sign back on and play for another 30-45 minutes just fine, another random disconnect. Get back on, 15 minutes later, sudden disconnect. Some days they are frequent but some days I may disconnect once in a 4-hour session.

I have run PingPlotter, and it appears that my disconnects occur when I am pushed between a hop in France (I can look up the exact IP/hostname later if needed), and it loses my packets. It works perfectly fine but right before I disconnect, it loses packets for 20 seconds or so, then it's back to normal.

As it's nothing with my personal connection, or the PO server, is there anything I can really do? I haven't been able to PvP in a while because I'm afraid I'm going to disconnect and lose my very expensive bot and if nothing gets better, I'm not sure if there's much of a reason to keep playing. :-/

I tried to use the HotSpot Shield by Anchorfree (Listed in the first post), even though I really don't want to use that type of program, but I can't seem to get it to work anyways, so it's a moot point.

Are there any other alternatives or additional solutions to this, or are we just SOL?

I'm not saying it's impossible to perform combat with the current set-up. I have no issues with it, personally, but I can see where the OP is coming from, especially if you want to auto-run while typing something in a chat channel yet have your camera faced looking behind you, so you can get a better look at what's going on before switching back to a "normal" view.

Is it high up on the list? No, I don't think so. There are other pressing issues that need to be addressed first, but I would like to see this future sometime in the future and do not think anyone who would use (Or request) this feature to be "lazy or physically challenged."

Wow, I didn't know this happened. Yeah, +1

Syndic: Yeah, but he's probably using the keyboard hotkeys for the head-slots, weapons, and leg slots. If you're running backwards and using your right hand on the mouse, you will have to take at least one finger off of movement to be able to activate or de-activate something. It's not a HUGE problem, but a bit more control on auto-run or being able to double-tap S to auto-run backwards would be nice.

This is probably the wrong section for it, and I'm sure it's been suggested before, but it is a valid issue (Again, not a HUGE issue) for those that primarily use the keyboard hotkeys.

On a much lighter note, I am now selling myself on the side of the road at the market.

...

Maybe that was worded poorly. I meant I am selling fruit! Lemons, melons (Mellow Melon), and apples (Atrocious Apple)! And if you join Roving Gun's public channel and speak to me (On any of those three characters), I may even do the Chiquita Banana Song/Dance for you! My distant equatorial-residing cousin, Bodacious Banana, taught me how to do it!

So what are you waiting for? Everyone loves fruit! Join the channel, send me an in-game mail, a forum PM, or a private message in-game -- the possibilities are endless when you go with the fruit!

NOTE: Please don't eat me. sad
