Well something I enjoy the most is hunting an killing criminals. It by far keeps me playing a MMO longer then anything else.( 6 year in eve) ( 3 in Ultima) I like to kill or grief people that bully other players. I'm guilty I will admit it, and it feels good.. So I get real passionate about a rule set that prevents me from playing that way.

I would be vary surprised If I am a minority with this opinion,. its unreasonable to generalize players like me into a griefers category.. I probably only killed 40 innocent  people in 12 years of MMO gaming,.

But with all this talk of pvp on alpha,. It cant work with out a good crime N punishment system, or it will push out industry players, and pure pve players,. we should all feel at home in a sandbox world,. no matter what the play style is.

here is a great blog of someone I killed a few years back,. He was trying to grief a miner in my corp,. Its his blog to boot,. its a great read,. injoy

http://www.ironfleet.com/2008/12/24/chr … -canceled/

I think we would all love to see this dynamic in P.

Well Savin, I feel its time to give up on you. I'm not the best at expressing the issue. I use force in and out of context, so my bad. but it gets tiring running around in circles with you.

I think Other can talk about this issue better then I can so I wll just watch him talk.

A good example of your ignorance is your idea of assignments getting a NIC nerf and spawns getting a loot drop buff,.. makes me facepalm my self when I'm done reading.

perhaps in a few months when your isolated farm yelds less an less NIC due to the easy Mats people can farm, you might come back here with a better view on the situation,.

Your other post in the related topic is no different,. bla bla bla, have you done anything else in this game besides mine?

This is a good point, but how would adding PvP to the mix solve it?

If you make the low-level drops worthless to advanced characters, not so many of them will camp the spawns.

I dont think you will like my Answer,. but its force. I think a corp/group of this fasion should be killed to extinction, this type of item farming is like a wild fire that needs to be stomped out religiously. Merc takes this role,. hero's take this role,. Vigilanty suicide ganks,. and sadly,..  griefers,..

But what your saying is move the problem to a different spawn, I dont see this as a fix,.

Ultimately everything the PvE experience is pvp by choice because you are still competing in beating a player to a spawn, a resource, or a sale so granting pve players an immunity because they are not direct combat characters dosen't make a lot of sense to me since they have their way of beating some one and pvpers have their own way of beating someone.

It sucks getting blown up
It sucks finding a spawn fully camped
It sucks being undercut constantly

This is the kind of valid issues I try to express as well. When the game gets really busy ( with hope it dos) A pve combat corp can grief someones game experience just as easy as a pvp corp.

When Alpha gets packed, just think of the fast locking and how a corp, or 2 or 3 man team could keep a spawn for them selfs indefinitely. The potential to grief all noobs off a 1star mob is unreasonable,. Remote seonsor booster + fastlocking bot + sensor booster + skill, = my spawn? all day? possibly all weekend? cheers to safe zones,.

I need to take breaks , drink coffee,. smoke,. etc . But as we all know, there is a lot of players that would fastlock a spawn for 10 hours before eating a packet of sugar..

Sure ,. the devs could nerf the mob,. Nerf the taging of npc targets, etc, etc.. but how is that helping the pve department,? The bottom line is ,. if ya dont mix pve/pvp then the first an most obvious problem is the safe pve gets abused just the same.

This pve vs pvp debate reminds of the problems in theoretical physics, haha

In search of a grand theory to unit everything,. Anyone know what epicycles are? well MMO's are full of them,. and there bad news hehe..

anyway, I hope they do something with the red/blue/green concept,. No miner needs to be involved with it,. Possibly 3 rouge npc corps at war with each other, And the ability to join one and take part in a layer of pvp that exists on alpha.

Wow, maaan, harsh, duude. If you honestly believe that the discussion these last few days has only been about NPC bots, if your impotent rage is such that you're able to ignore pages of posts in order to take a cheap shot at me, then I shall go to sleep soundly tonight, content in the knowledge that your seed will provide another generation of people to dig ditches and serve fried chicken to my grandchildren.

Evin after a swift water boarding you still dont wake up. there is a problem with player vs environment, The minning part? well its done better then most games,. besides the fact it might get Usurped by people recycling loot.

/edit : I said core rout,. Not "only"

Savin wrote:

You make a good point. I think that combat vs. NPC bots is certainly a part of PvE, and to some extent we have all been oversimplifying by ignoring that rather rare creature, the combat-oriented player who only fights NPC bots.

If you're the type of person who likes the "excitement" of possibly being nailed by a player in a combat bot while mining, turn on your PvP flag. Doesn't that make you a viable target even on the Alpha islands?

Everyone's happy!

I would find it safer to mine in Darkfall then Alpha with my pvp flag on. So this would be the best way to explain a problem by observation. why would someone advertise kil mee killll meee

History speaks volumes , The safe lands effectively starved out many gray area's of play, moved the surviving players into a different direction, and destroyed the economy for crafters. This Marked the end of the first great sandbox. -Ultima Online

If this is what P. is, then its doomed by design if the devs expect a working open pvp world, And they should know better.

It would be nice to see some kinda of system that unites random players into a fight,. I Thought old SWG had some good pvp,. it was not a open pvp game so I thought it might be a good example here.

Be cool to see some type of faction system with this red vs blue vs green concept. Assignments could play a big roll here and possible faction gear with standing restrictions.

We would only be flagged to one of the opposing colors when were on there island, and each color could have a HQ were we get specific assignments to advance a rep grind, A classic SWG twist where we could kill/farm the enemy's sentinel bots that help protect the enemy's HQ.

To be honest, I would rather see something like this before a open pvp rule set. the beta lands pvp is fine for alliance/corp turf war pvp,. but not all pvpers feel like dedicating them self to such a demanding system of teamwork and ventrillo all the time.

anyway,.. that would be my valid attempt to get some smaller random pvp action brewing and yes,. help blend the pve with some pvp..

I disagree that pvp on alpha islands isnt a legitimate solution.

I don't feel like this game can be legitimately be called a 'sandbox' mmo if you have that total separation of the pvp and pve players.

The unpredictability of other players being thrown into the mix of potential dangers adds a level of gameplay that no amount of programming can equal

+1 to this point of view.

The freedom of action add's color to the game, it gives it life. Its possible that this is where the soul of a sandbox comes from. It promotes Rp, *** the progress of player advancement, and fuels the games military industrial complex =p

The part that frustrates me is,. why the hell did you pay to play a OPEN PVP game?

I'm not gonna renew my crafter,. I dont need him. so why would I need you around? you see thats the problem,. the game offers a free basket of cookies that offer me everything.

Once the prototype arms race is over and people just run there own lines,. your dead meat man,. this system is going to hang you out to dry if your only a crafter. why? .. Well I think its obvious, the risk free millions and loads of mats I get, Kernals to research,. and the easyness of running my own lines,... yea I think you get the point..

Will this all get fixed if I can gank a few noobs?,. obviously not,. but no pvp at all on Alpha is contributing to this big time,. Its a freeking monster of a problem,. and they need to take swift action or its the vary players there trying to keep that will be on there way out with many others.

Savin wrote:

You are right, Greenleaf, it has gotten out of hand, and I apologize for my part in it.

Let's get back to the question, which was: are you satisfied with the game's current PvE situation? Are you someone who thinks that PvE players should be forced to PvP, or do you have other ideas?

Forced? Nothing should be "forced" there should be freedom to what ever actions I feel like taking,. if thats to suicide my ship to kill you for fast locking and get jailed to beta for a week then so be it,. I want that freedom to act on what ever actions I so please, I deal with the repercussions later,. so yea,. I think some of the PVE crowd should lick there wounds ,. pull there pants up and stop asking for a such a safe bowl of cookies to eat from.

I played it all man,. I would rather play a game where someone can take my milk money and then $hit on me,. I want to feel like its a struggle to survive,. I do understand though that the games needs a warm protective woom for new players to spawn out of. But there HAS to be potential risk of dieing by the hand of players ALL THE TIME..

How could you guys expect the devs to read this when you rail road it into a pit a flaming $h!t.

Amen guys,. well done,. I think its time for a group hug.=p

Im gonna be blunt, after 3 weeks the game is boring me to tears,. lets try an help them fix it.

I'm no ganker/griefer, but I support freedom in pvp. the big problem is the criminal flagging system that makes most open pvp games fail..

forced pvp should allways have huge draw backs to the attacker. harsh punishment for attacking Innocent players, boycots, debuffs after death,. could speculate endless things.

Its getting old seeing eve get compared to this, there really nothing like each other. In eve's first year I used to kill miners in high sec, I was all ways risking a lot doing it. took to many pods an found out the game was mad at me, Make matters worse, people in low sec didn't like me. as a newb I felt like the game abandoned me,. I felt in trouble, it was great,. It had been the first time since Ultima I felt that way,.

The sandbox is like a soul in a person,. its just there,. you cant explain it.

Atifacts are a tricky thing,.. 50% of the time it meens the GPU has been made week from over heating or age. Im sure you may know this,. if its been over worked by heat then then it will never recover,. it will all ways need to run evin cooler now then when it was younger.

I built alot of systems,. seen more then a hand full of cards die from over use or massive punishment from gaming.

one type of trail an error to try here. as yours dont look bad.

will your atifacts show up in full screen mode and windows mode,? or just one or the other.? All cards that only did this in one mode or the other just had software problems.

I seen a system that had to turn off the Accelerator in the video for streaming tv or ,. big_smile utube vids,. An easy way to find this option is to run a utube video, right click your screen ----> click settings ----> uncheck the hard wear accelerator.. then go back an try your game,. or visversa.

sounds *** I know. but go try it.. I have no idea why,.but it solves some atifact problems on other systems.

cheers,. hope this helps.

This will be short, As Im sure someone on the dev team is aware of it.

The Agent profile gets bogged down by relation history. It needs a clear relation history button. If I page over a few times to remove it from sight the lag inside the profile stops right away.

When I reopen the agent profile page it takes time to load,. Its so bad now it makes my screen go black for a few seconds an is only getting worse after each completed mission.

This could vary well be a root cause to some players having crazy lag if they have no idea about it  and have there profile open well there trying to play.

+1 to a button to clear relation history,.

thx for reading.
