I thought this was a rather large issue when I was new as well.  Once you figure the game out you can find just about anything you need within 3-4km of a terminal, so its really not a problem.

This is why *everyone* recommends you wait untill you figure out what you are doing before blowing your free respec.  Regardless of how bad your initial choices are, they won't stop you from figuring out which playstyle most likely suits you. Oh and the EP penalty on respec's is cumulative, even if you "wasted" all of your points its unlikely to be worth it. neutral
