Unfortunately none of us understands Russian, so there is no point in writing proposals. Furthermore we wouldn't be able to moderate it for the same reason.

We are discussing among themselves. Interesting ideas will be translated to you for review.
But in order not to mix the Russian and English topics - we ask our forum thread.
Since the moment in the opinion of the players who do not speak English - is not taken into account. And that's too bad. Especially when the new players are expected after the publication in Steam.

Non-moderated forums are prone to all sorts of horrible things.

Then it is necessary find a solution!
That's simple, eh. Gimme teh moderation rights
Actually, no moderation is required. And if someone will spam you with accusations...well just ban hi^W ignore that.

Maybe I'm wrong, but, is Russian topics moderated NOW? Oo
Our gamers can report flood etc as in the end of this topic http://forums.perpetuum-online.com/topi … ka/page/4/

Which obviously begs the question, should they be allowed? No offense guys, but having seen the internet in action for 20+ years now, I seriously doubt a gentleman's agreement is gonna cut it.

A close request is pretty straightforward, but when someone reports a post as offensive, I pretty much have to rely on his word because google translate rarely helps with obscure Russian swearing, and I wouldn't be able to understand the context either to make a judgment.
And yeah we could give a player moderation rights, but that's just part of the problem. Having a Russian subsection on the English forum would be* a bad idea considering how the active topics/new posts function would look like. (Well, it's already starting to look bad...)
We could have a separate Russian forum like we have for Hungarian, but I don't think that it would last long, Hungarian also died pretty quickly. This might change with the Steam launch of course, but until then it would be really nice if you could post in English.
*edit: wouldn't be = would be, damn.
If you are going to add international sections, then please consider our friends in Germany and France too!

This project is positioned as a multi-lingual, so should be the appropriate sections of the forum, and, ideally, multilingual technical support. But...
Я согласен что зачахнет,так вполне может быть,так что пользуемчся пока тем,что сейчас у нас есть...
Zoom, сan you do the multilingual Wikipedia? http://wiki.perpetuum-online.com/index.php/Main_Page
If not, then maybe new subdomain? http://ruwiki.perpetuum-online.com/index.php/Main_Page ?
вообще википедов много,есть даже русская http://perpetuum.ancup.ru/index.php/Home http://perpetuum.wikia.com/wiki/Perpetuum_Wiki
http://foom.electric-mayhem.org/wiki/

Having the wiki in other languages is a bad idea as long as the English one is not even close to complete. Our goal was (well, it still is) to bring it up to date so we can include it in the client in place of the current guide. Other languages could come after that.

Obviously I don't spend all of my day to read each and every post on the forum so I can only moderate those which get reported. The difference for Russian reports is that I pretty much have to take the reporter's word for that it's offensive (and it's not even a response to another insult in the first place...).
Separate language forums are simply not warranted at this point as they would just fragment the small community into even smaller groups. As said, I would rather like everyone to post in English, even if that means google translating.
Zoom, the thing is that those who have to use Google Translate just don't really post anything. If you look at the recent threads in russian, you notice that some of the guys have more posts in those two threads than anywhere else.
I'm not sure if its a good idea or not, but a lot of small communities have these sorts of international sub-forum sections and they seem to do fine.

i'd like it if the forum auto translated whatever was typed in whatever laqnguage to the language you set.
Can we get Chinese support too?
