My reasons:
1. More practical for solo players, especially starting ones
2. Less chance of drama after network issues
+ more time to use bruteforce hack on remaining fieldcontainer from shot down beta miner

Just add another field container that lasts 30m/1h and is a lot more expensive.

Add option for the destruction of container, if no longer needed and if it is empty (Alpha islands).
For example, when I finish with mining, and when I drove all that I dug, the container does not need me anymore.

Disclaimer: Relatively new player, here. I am informed that the current max time that a container will remain in the game if not interacted with is 15 minutes. If that is incorrect, then please ignore this.
I would like to request that untended containers last longer than 15 minutes, if that is indeed the current limit. I do not run multiple accounts just to have a hauler, and 15 minutes will severely restrict the radius of my operations considering the terrain in some areas.
I propose anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. It's up to the Devs to decide if clutter would cause much in the way of lag-- even if so, I cannot imagine that 30 minutes would be a big problem.
And yes, I am in a corp and love to cooperate with others-- but sometimes they are not on and I do some mining/harvesting.

My main idea was to just increase the timer, as a quick fix. But adding a new kind of can, that lasts longer for a higher price sounds like a good solution too.
One of the biggest flags of ninja mining is the can, which can be spotted from a long way off by a detector bot.
Just making the can last longer, while better for solo alpha miners, would be less beneficial to players using beta.
Having more than 1 can type would be the best solution, or better still, when you deploy the can, you can choose a timer setting , 5 - 15 - 30
I don't see the point for such a limited timer setting +1.

I mean - i haven't played any other game that needed device like the fieldcontainer (aka black-hole-containment device) at all.
Making the field container last longer doesn't really sound like an improvement that makes the game better IMHO
