Topic: Bad Performance on high end PC

Specs:

Intel Core i7 950 @ 3.68 GHZ
6GB Ram DDR 3 (3x2GB in Triple Channel DIMMs)
EVGA x58 Classified MB
EVGA Geforce GTX 680
Win7x64 Pro Sp1

Many other games run just fine, including extremely demanding titles at extreme detail with very high fps.

Perpetuum I have a hard time breaking 20fps with no AA

1. What's your Draw distance at? Shouldn't be over 50%.
2. Shadows are huge resource hog, try turning them off temporarily.

A PC with those specs should run the game much better than that so there must be some misconfiguration or driver issue. You're not using beta or outdated drivers, are you?

What hard drive?  Are you running it as admin?  Also, as mentioned, shadows, turn them off... turn off plant decor too it's just extra clutter anyway.

i have a far worse system but can run multiple clients fine, shadows on,  (haswell i5, 650GTX OC).
even though i connect via wifi and using onboard sound (two things that have been usually issues for me in the past)

there must be something hogging all your system resources when running perp.

zoom - any hints if the ingame profiling window could help finding the issue?

your system seems to be fine with this game like the devs said. I usually blame background apps for this...those are the culprits most of the time. Usual culprits are antivirus and such
