Topic: sinal detector issues/freezing

Hey I am having issues with a signal detector on a Castel Mk2, regardless of how I fit it I freeze every time it cycles over and my response time is well into 7000ms. This is with t4 module I also must say I have not tried lower tier detection modules either

This 7000ms is with or without the module turned on. hmm

Now with my other account logged in at same time there is no issue at all he has a near constant 400ms.

Am I mad or other players have similar issue any thoughts would be appreciated

I have a fix for this.  It's called upgrading your computer.  For about $1300 you can fix the lag issue.

Sounds like network lag if the ping jumps. Not something a new computer would likely fix.

Mine did the same thing till I upgraded the ram in the PC.

Ville , have rampage 3 extreme ,gtx580 i7 950 I think pc is fine 12gig ram on 2x24" 1920 x1200 monitors.  Network lag possible but it is just a recent issue since returning has not happened previously at any other time since I started perp, was just fishing for possibilities. usually down load speed is around 10 to 14 mbps although this is from Australia

RAM has nothing to do with your lag, if your ping is spiking its something to do with your network connection/ISP.

Have you tried to ping the games website?  Is there any packet loss?  Also, I would recommend running a trace route to the website to see where along the chain your slow down is occurring.  Most of my traffic ends up being routed through the UK or France.  So if any of the ISP's along your path are having routing/Lag issues it will affect your latency.  That being said, I have been experiencing major lag as well from my end too.  I'm in the United States.

Unfortunately RAM helps only in small portion.
I have 24GB RAM and lag like hell due to my Network connection regardless if it is only 1 client active or several.

As stated this happens only when detection module is fitted, game runs fine otherwise, yes usual loading lag as all experience. It is entirely to do with the module alone.

Any other takers on this matter or still just me.

Also unchecking all items in landmarks option still leaves all buildings on the map is this meant to happen, if they were not there it may alleviate some of the congestion from all the info.

Yeah, because that's what RAM is for... well, maybe if you're editing HD movies, but still, come on.

Yes. I've observed the same. This issue is most pronounced on Gamma where there are lots of objects on the terrain that will show up in the radar window.

I had to use T1 detector sometimes because it was just too out of hand.

Gets way better with radar off for me. Some kind of option to remove structures from radar maybe?

This is heavily connected to the gamma lag issues btw, we're working on it.

we have filter options for landmarks and for additional icons.

maybe it also would help if we have these for the radar. so we can disable some stuff there that we dont want to see.
