Topic: Client crahses have increased

hi there,
it seams that client sided crahes gave greatly increased. and im am not the only one who has experienced that problem. my corpmates have the same issues.

clinet crahes especially often at:
- docking in terminal
- opening the map
(and sometimes just at no special reason given on the field)

additionaly i have a strange radar bug. the radar turns white when i zoom it out. always followd by a crash once you dock back into terminal.

the two main problems above have been there for a long time, but it was way less often.

Re: Client crahses have increased

And opening a cont with lots of stuff (depends on separated items number, not actual volume). This, I believe, the main issue of most crashes. We all know that lots of items in one strorage/folders lags everything strong enough. In some cases it's so strong that client can't even handle that. Some optimisation here needed for sure, no matter if it's query optimisation, or query results processing, or even text mode of view instead of pictures, or all together.

Such containers of death, while placed in field, slow agents around a little, lagging clients, especially if you're multiboxing there, and I can't even imagine how evil exploits can be found based on such lags.

This problem should be solved ASAP, regardless on priorities, otherwise any player base increase may doom us all.

Re: Client crahses have increased

We have a promising solution which will be deployed in the next patch (soon).

Re: Client crahses have increased

Good to hear that. Until then, don't be greedy when on farm or keep the container always open by hauler bot smile

Re: Client crahses have increased

Delete your Perpetuum.gbf file, run EXE and let it manually bring itself back up. My file-size of the .gbf was 2,2GB and I couldn't even open my private storage without crashing. Now its ~800MB and I have no problems.

Thing is that it's grow back all the time. Deleting game files and redownloading them isn't a proper solution.
