Path of Exile is an online Action RPG set in the dark fantasy world of Wraeclast. We're a small independent team of hardcore gamers based in New Zealand and have created Path of Exile as the game that we'd want to play ourselves. It is designed around a strong barter-based online item economy, deep character customisation, competitive PvP and ladder races. The game is completely free and will never be "pay to win". Path of Exile is currently in Open Beta!

Still playing it. Rerolled a templarm, in merciless now. It's so damn addicting.

L19 Marauder. \o/ Probably rolling shadow or witch soon. Good game and worth a try if you manage to play with couple of friends, otherwise the grind could get you. Skill system and overal randomness in the whole item system is interesting but game world feels a bit bland at times.

What sets this apart from DIII or Torchlight II or any other game in this genre?

I've only briefly played D3 but from the looks of it, POE character and whole item system is a lot deeper than D3. D3, obviously, is more polished.

good game.
better then d3 for sure. torchlight is also fun but this one has a very deep character development that is way more comolex then only the enourmous passive tree.

playing witch but also have tested a ranger and a bit duelist.

perfect game to keep the fingers buisy while the lasers dig the ground for resources...
