Has there been any testing for compatibility with windows 8?

If not when when this be done?


many programs and games that run on windows 7 are not compatible with windows 8

I'm running windows 8 on my home system and Perpetuum works just fine - I don't see any reason why it shouldn't.

Also I'm tempted to question why so many people are bashing win8... It's the exact same thing with the start menu replaced by a full screen version.

Oh no, really!? The windows 7 task bar couldn't be turned off and constantly interrupts what you're doing like a spoilt child bouncing up and down shouting "Hey pay attention to me, I won't stop screaming until you stop what you're doing which can't be as important as what I've got to show you".

This new windows 8 version sounds like the kid grew up to be a surly teenager.

Personally I can't wait for the brat to leave home.

i mean, SyncOS looks like very inspired from "Workbench" big_smile

I think I liked the pre-child Anni better. You are so demanding like a little kid now. Which one should they do first. The PVE content you scream about all the time or the new century GUI? big_smile

I see no reason to upgrade to 8, Windoze 7 works fine. Just another example of MS milking their flag ship OS.

hey, dont mistake a question with a demand.

right now, im following more the GUI strategies of Autodesk then Perpetuum.

OS interface developed visible from
- command line interface (keyboard)
- window based (mouse)
- app based (touch screen)

Software interface hasn't changed much since windows became common. for me the most intresting developement was the Ribbon UI that was first forced upon user with one of the office packages. Autodesk also has implemented it into their CAD software packages and i like it very much.

but lately they are going towards pads, touchscreen and cloud based features, which actually are more or less counterproductive for any1 who is not a DESIGNER.

they are overdoing it with "going with the flavor of the month" IMHO which will cost them customers

Perpetuum on the other hand didn't have any major developement on the UI since release. The ones made have been an improvement though. I only wonder if there are ideas to make further little improvements, perhaps considering modern ui design ideas.
