Topic: New Patch

I have to say todays patch looks awesome.

We finally get rid of the account reset system.

The attributes are also a thing of the past now, this has been discussed in great lengths elsewhere and the blog post about it pretty much explained why this was a very good decision.
The most significant to me is that a new player no longer have to make the single most important decision in the game before they deployed to terrain for the first time.
The fact that you (the Devs) managed to remove the attributes with little to no impact on the current players is amazing (more on this a little bit later).

The new extension downgrade feature, is an okay replacement for the reset system, well almost any replacement for the reset system would have been good so this does not really say much.
It still leaves a lot of problems, on the top of my head is:
How many of the mistakes you make when learning the complexity of the game are you really going to realize within the first 30 days.
When new features are implemented veterans have to test and see if they like them and want to use/have/do them without being able to get the spent EP back if they realize they do not like the feature. Or they can make a trial account and test the feature on that before using any EP on the subbed account.

The new walk animation, wow what a great surprise, and my favorite kind of surprises too.
It is my favorite kind of surprise be course I can enjoy it right away just by deploying. Awesome job on this one, cant wait until the mech/heavy mech gets some new and improved walking animations.

Next up is the Spark system, more customization for the role you want your character to do, and you can change it, what is not to like about this. Only problem I have with this right of is the ones where you have to get 6.0 relation to get it, the problem is not the height of the relation but the fact that the high level assignments has not been redone yet, and they are only on the old beta islands.

Oh and this patch just seem to keep giving.
The T2+ and T4+ items are now on the market, it was a mistake not to put them on 1 week ago, but lets not dwell on the past. (The T4+ EM-gun still have the name medium HCL laser)

And what patch would be complete without true Hungarian math.

Quote from the Blogpost

A side effect of this is that everyone will end up with a varying amount of extra EP (woohoo!)

And from todays patch notes

The base cost of extensions has been reduced from the 100 EP to 60 EP. Consequently, every account has had its available EP recalculated, resulting in varying amounts of extra EP for everyone.

So here I am spinning my robot 1 hour before the patch with a total of 14 EP on the account.

And here I am spinning my robot right after the patch with a total of -8 646 EP

So from here on, when the Devs use the term “everyone” I will consider myself not to be Included tonguelol
(yes I know highly specialized account is the reason, but where is the fun in using logic)

Re: New Patch

I have an older account that has less EP than a younger account....

Re: New Patch

Trap Card its obviously possible, if you dont have full time active.  "Older account" means the account was created before.  That dont equal total time of activation.

Re: New Patch

I did the maths in another post, its MORE likely that High EP specialised accounts will have negative EP after the change; The best example is Indy Robot 10 which is calculated at less then 60 if you went full logistics.

Mainly, if you went 100% EP into your specialized field, and you have alot of EP spend in those extensions calculated at less then 60, your're going to lose EP in this patch.

The older account has been subbed longer than the newer account.

Re: New Patch

EP is only accrued during subscribed time, so its possible to have an account with an older creation date, that wasn't continuiously subbed, with less EP than a newer account.

If both were continiously subbed, and the older has less EP, then that's a huge problem.

Edit: Also, where are you looking to get the total EP?

Did you make a reset with the "newer account"?

RIP PERPETUUM

Re: New Patch

If you built a char (statwise) for a job then trained it solely in that job, it is going to get less back (that's right, right?)  The people who got the most were those sort of stuck cross-training outside of theri stat specialties (I started off deciding on NEXUS/grop support not realising how impossible it was to get NEXUS modules for noobs, so crosstrained into EWAR, painfully so, and never rerolled because reassigning roles would have been a logistic nightmare.  So I got quite a bit back even being a "newer" Summer account).

Re: New Patch

i think: if you did delte your alt-agents, but did not RESET your account, you have lost EP.

deleting cost EP are not the same as penalty EP that you got from reseting more then once.

The question is: did you delete an agent on that account without doing a reset?

Re: New Patch

All of my accounts have the same EP (Total Pool) as they did before the patch.

Which at the time of the patch was around 535,000 EP. Total available EP on each accounts increased by around 10% of their total EP (Due to a large amount of extensions crossing over attributes).

It is possible however to lose available EP due to the lowest extension cost before the patch was 56 and is now 60. The highest of course was 91 (I think). Anyone that lost EP will have trained around 3 extensions to level 10 and then stopped. Those sorts of accounts are primarily alts and are already doing what they were planned to do. If they were planned to do other things then the rewards have yet to be reaped as they'll be training those extensions for much cheaper than before.
