Topic: Shield + surface hit size

When the shield is active, the shield is all around the robot.

So why the robot keep its hit size instead of the size of the shield ? For now it's like if the shield is not a sphere.

A EW with a 3m shield radius should have a 3m hit size when the shield is up.

the shieldradius is adjusted to the robots size, hence the shield efficiency changes depending on robot size

a 3m shield will work better on a 2m bot, because it has its given efficiency at 3m, but just needs to extend to 2m.

also oppositte effect: a 3m shield works on a 10m heavy mech, but takes more then 3 times the AP per absorbed damage because it has to extend so far out.

I think its mainly because the bonus for having a small size is counted twice for sheilds, both in how hard it is to hit the bot, and the "hidden" bonus that it gives the shield ap:hp ratio, should it get both?

but would need a new stat "active hitsize" that does not create an endless loop when calculating shield strength

Physics and game mechanics are often in conflict, so while the physical surface area of a sphere is much larger then the surfact hit area of a bot 'graphically', it's not the intent of the module to do it or it would be programmed in.

Maybe when they have some free design time, they can create the graphic to be more 'form-fitting' instead of an easy to generate sphere. Until then we have to suspend disbelief.

Nice idea.
Also i would like to see fixed displaying of absorption.
