Topic: Continue to specialise?

Don't play the game at the moment, just log in to spend EP. So don't  know too much about how things are going on the field.

I have a Early Access toon. I have just concentrated my EP on DPS for Nuimquol. So hardly anything spent on Ewar and nothing spend on other factions.

It's getting to the point where any one of my marked extensions is going to cost 3500 to get to the next level and they are the ones that seem crap like CPU fitting skills and Accelerated Reloading for example. Some of the decent ones are approaching the 10000 to get to next level.

Just wondering if I should continue on the path of having a specialised toon who is Nuimquol, DPS only or should I start spending EP on EWAR or other races?

EG Energy Management and the other Accumulator EP (forget name) are both lvl 7and to get them to 8 will cost 13k each. With that EP I could probably get all laser related EP in the 4's and 5's.

Would appreciate some advise from the early access guys that PvP. Probably not too many I guess (50?)

Re: Continue to specialise?

It really all just depends on what you want to do. I purposely didn't specialize my EA pvp toon. I didn't want to be hemmed into one kind of robot, for the FOTM stuff. When Kains get nerfed, I'll be glad I didn't spec into it tongue

I spent most of my ep across thelodica though, and pretty balanced in light lasers, medium lasers and ewar. I probaly won't ever be "the best" at any of that, but I do well enough to hold my own, and can jump across multiple bots as the situation calls for.

IMO, it sounds like you're really well skilled in Nuimquol. Have you ever tried EW? It's a totally diffrent style of play. It's extremely powerful in this game, to the point of some fights being decided by who's got the better EW.

Then again, if you went ahead and took your Energy Management and Accumulator Expansion up to 8 or 9, it'll benefit you greatly in many diffrent bots should you choose to spec into something other then dps later on. *Edit* Not to mention in your dps bot as well tongue

Thanks for your reply

EG Signal detection / masking, Sensor surpressing. Not sure if these are must haves for all PvPers or are they for EW toons.

Please feel free to critique my EP expenditure

Re: Continue to specialise?

Wrong forum....

Specialist > generalist in all games like this but in order to specialise you make yourself weak in other areas. Depends on your gamestyle. I have specialised and in the current round of 'balancing' i am doing okay, one day it will be my turn to have the uber l337 robot of doom!!

Re: Continue to specialise?

Why you want spent EP, if you dont play, i think better if you will play after you spent EP, not now. Or you want to wait full caracter or something?

Re: Continue to specialise?

I agree. Just let your EP build up until your ready to play again.

Or, let it build up and buy only the expensive EP skills. It's easy to save 4 or 5,000 EP while your playing, but trying to save 64,000 EP to get Level 10 faction specific Robot is a PITA to do while your actually using the bot daily.
