Beginners PvP Guide

Re: Beginners PvP Guide
Looks good. I was thinking linking some of Balfizar's videos would be a nice intro for the guide. He really motivated some of my corp mates who thought only pros and blobs can PvP.
Re: Beginners PvP Guide
We are definitely interested in any other useful guides or videos and are happy to promote them!! I have asked a few people if they would like to contribute some more advanced specific guides and hopefully we'll get some good contributions.

Re: Beginners PvP Guide
It's not a bad guide but it's very simple. Might as well be replaced by
"DON'T PANIC!"
If it gets more people PVPing then I am all for it.
A better guide would be a general setup and strategy for each robot but coming from Joke it'll probably involve inviting as many people as possible to a squad and hoping someone shoots the same target as you.
Re: Beginners PvP Guide
As in the news item accompanying the guide, we would be more than happy to publish contributions from anyone with knowledge to share. I am sure a guide written by some of the prominent M2S folks would be very well received. Let me know if anyone is interested.
Re: Beginners PvP Guide
As promised, although a little later than planned, part 2 of the Beginners Guide to PvP is available!!
Read it here
Re: Beginners PvP Guide
It would seem that the site is down. I am looking for pvp guides in general, also maybe mining guides.
I am totally new to this game and would like as much information as possible.

Re: Beginners PvP Guide
I played in beta and am just now returning. I'd like to try out being an ECM guy in pvp, but this is me:
What's the best focus for ECM in pvp? Does one faction's bots do better than others? Explain it like I'm five.
Thanks!
EDIT: It seems the site in the OP is gone.

Re: Beginners PvP Guide
If you really want to be an effective ECM guy, you simply focus on blue bots, and about 2/3 of the extensions in "electronics"
ECM has a natural low chance to hit and really high power consumption, so you need:
"efficient ECM Technology"
to lower AP usage per cycle"Jamming electronics" and "complex Jamming electronics"
to increase chance to hit"Optimized electronic warfare"
to lower fitting costs of ECM modules"long distance electronic warfare"
since you want to stay as far away as possible"Accelerated target locking", "long range targeting" and "Sensor connection"
since you want to lock your targets faster and at reasonable distances
Additional you will need:
"nuimqol robot control"
to get access to blue robots (lvl7 for ewar mech)"basic/adv robotics"
to boost the robot bonus on ECM (lower AP, higher chance to hit)
decide early if you want to stay in cheap light ewar (=basic robotics)
or ewar mech (=adv. robotics)"Spec ops. robot control"
to unlock ewar robot/mech and get stealth-bonus"Accumulator expansion"
to increase your buffer AP"Energy management"
to improve your AP regeneration
Whining - It's amazing how fast your trivial concerns will disappear
