Are you that terrible that you need 75% of the population allied to you in order to feel safe?

You are part of the reason this game is just not fun.

By your reasoning 75% of the population would not agree with you roll

Didnt this thread use to be longer?

sounds like a nice idea, with perhaps some tweaking

Yeah something like fuel is definitely good for the economy, as is any other money(nic)-sink. It keeps inflation in check and I fully expect the Energy System to be basically a big money sink. If you look at Eve, one of the most succesful virtual economies, it has tons of these, ranging from ammo to POS Fuel.

Nevertheless the Devs have to be careful about the implementation as it cannot be too tediuos. I'd rather have the big corps carry most of the sinks than the little guy having to grind half hour every day to keep his bot fueled.

This is in no way shape or form a Nic-sink. It will not curb inflation, and anyone who thinks like you is a complete ***.

Can you please explain that a bit further? Im just as stupid as Predator Nova and do not understand you.

I trust CIR, but then, that doesnt really count. Ive gamed with them for quite some time. That said, I have trust issues, I trust nearly everyone in games tongue

Outside of CIR Id say I trust Campana from M2s the most, a very integer and honest person.

I highly doubt we'll see a "Former WoW players raid Perpetuum!" thread.....

no, youll see a 'Former WoW players stuck in outposts' thread as they cannot figure out how to exit tongue

Yes, Ive played WoW for a few months. Not saying 'all wow players are stoopid' but met a few that made me thankfukk WoW existed, it kept these people away from other games where I might have to deal with them.

with a title like that I had expected juicier content sad

how about the 'little black book' files? have they been declassified yet?

I find it absolutely horrific how you are thinking. We decided to make this donation to the new guys because we want them to enjoy the game more and not ragequit. This is a rare moment in Perpetuum's history where all of us old players should be banding together to give the newcomers a proper welcome and making them at home in the game! smile

You may have misunderstood my post or taken something I said to be directed at you personally or at CIR. It wasn't. I do not believe the post I responded to was even written by a CIR Corp. member, was it?

Well, Im not officialy in the CIR corporation but Ive worked with CIR in Warhammer&was their head diplomat in Mortal Online.

I dont play perpetuum all that much at the moment. So it would be rather a waste to let me take up a slot in the corporation.

So yeah, Im affiliated with CIR, but the post I made has been made solely by me. Not in conjunction with CIR staff. Syn generally gets itchy if anyone suggest carebearism.

I can assure you that Syndic doesnt dictate my posts, I remember in Mortal when Syn was a bit upset when I revealed that the leader of CIR was a woman. That seemed to lead to a lot of misunderstandings, but on the bright side: it did mean that Syn was less reluctant to talk on the radio yarr

There seems to be some mistrust about CIR's motives to donate bots. Discarding the possibility that CIR will crawl out of the bots at night to butcher the new players what motives do people think there can be?

Buying loyalty? Syndic is smart enough to realise that this only works with mercenaries, and only as long as you continue to pay them. Since the Nex corporation themselves say they will likely fragment at one point there is no gain in making friends with that corp.

Besides, any ally you need to buy is not an ally that is worth having.

Poaching members? how? by giving bots to them even without them joining your ranks? one of the best ways to get new players to join your corp would be to wave exciting new bots in front of them and tell them its all theirs if they just sign here.....if anything this donation has increased the independence of the new players.

Getting the new corp set up?
it might help, it would mean they can use the bots to get to their feet. Go roaming and  engage in PvP which is something that CIR and others have always been interested in. The faster more players are ready to take the field the more interesting the game becomes.

Ofcourse it might be even simpler, Syndic might just be a big carebear, wanting to help out his fellow players. Those who know him will know how typical that is of him cool

whatever the reason, enjoy the bots, dont blow them up all at once wink

Most corps cant defend their outposts because of the way the intrusion system works.
Some cant cover all timezones effectively and m2s is exploiting that by attacking at times when their enemy is weak.

Yes.

Surely that works both ways? if M2s can do that so can other corporations. Attacking when your enemy is weakest sounds like a good tactic to me. Not sportive perhaps but effective.

To bad that outposts dont really give a bonus to the owner. At least tell me that they are better to have then Mortals e-peen extenders; the keeps

Nidhogg the Chosen from Warhammer and Nidhogg the CIR token carebear diplomat from Mortal Online, so yes. Nice to see you again!

Thanks for the replies. Ill try to summarise.

Most of the people are united in fighting M2s, despite this M2s holds the vast majority of the outposts. That seems an odd situation, how can you hold most of the outposts while being so horribly outnumbered?

There are several independent corporations that are striking out on their own so far they havent claimed outposts yet.

The current coalition is formed against M2s and has no interest in staying together after M2s has.....lost/given up/left the game/sought peace?

technically there are two sides and possible some more sides in the future if the fledgling corporations are allowed to flourish.

its interesting for new players to read about the current political climate

So far people from all sides seem friendly and willing to explain the situation both here and in PM's, Thank you for that.

Thanks for your reply,

How is the situation in regards to bots and territory? how big are the factions in terms of players and how much territory do each of the factions hold?

I've read the Corporation Dialogue/Monologue/Rant/Flame section as well as talked to various people in different corporations but can some players describe the current political state of the game? what are the politics like? how are the corporations developing?

The game itself doesnt interest me overly much but the politics are quite interesting. It might be interesting to others as well so I hope that some veterans will take the time to give a summary of the situation.
