Could a dev please confirm wherever if a certain class of npc should give a certain research than all tiers of that npc class should give it?

For example Veteran jackals might give LWF research but Supreme jackals don't give it? Even though they're the same class of npc and both have 2 LWF equipped, the Supreme jackals don't give it - Note that this is just an example. Is it supposed to be like this?

Confirmed, intended.

There are techs that you wont be able to research over a given tier3 from the faction's kernel, while other faction's kernels of the same type let you research further.

Confirmed that if one tier of npc (jackals for example) can give LWF research then all tiers of jackals should give LWF research? Didn't quite understand the point made as the second statement contradicts this.

...is not true. Different tier kernels within a class can give different technologies. If a rank1 contains LWFs, it doesn't necessarily mean that rank4's of the same class give it too.
