Topic: Strange AI behavior

I use Lithus on farming to pick up the loot, it have just shields stuff equipped. So often NPC's are doing this strange thing - they lock lithus in secondary, after a second they drop lock, then again adn again untill I kill them.

Re: Strange AI behavior

Mhmm. It's great. Modules generate "Threat" but because you don't attack them they don't attack but they still want to attack and they see your combat and think "We could shoot that but.. OHH SHIELD! Naa forget it.. OHH SHIELD!"

Re: Strange AI behavior

I know they love remote repairs and sometimes our RR-guy is all fuuu trying to runaway when they declare a Big RR Hunt. They still can be re-aggroed on combats. But this... Maybe it's some kind of psychological attack cuz these "bli-blip....bli-bli-bli...bli-blip....bli-bli-bli" all the time is really annoying, dunno.

Weapons used to do a sort of area threat when used but this is no longer the case. No even remote sensor amping generate more area threat than infinite amounts of damage. So RR guys will take the entire spawn aggro while the DPS have to take an NPC each.

Group farming is now crazy easy and no single target has all the aggro if you have enough DPS guys. Yet again the little guy on his own is punished while 4 accounts (Not people) can farm any spawn they like with a single RR guy.

Re: Strange AI behavior

We tested this today but couldn't really see what you're talking about. If anything, rather the opposite, RR (and generally ew modules) tends to gather much more threat than weapons, up to the point where the npcs don't care if they die before they can even scratch the RR-guy.

Btw there was never an "area threat" in place afaik, only direct threat and assists, like it is still the case.

Re: Strange AI behavior

It's not about RR, it's about why do they lock, drop, lock, drop, etc my lithus each second? Lithus have just shields, hardeners, accu aux, injector and lwf.

EDIT: RR is a different story. If they see anyone with RR they chase him first, and you should shoot each of them for a while to get agro on combat. I don't think there is a problem, it's just funny.

Re: Strange AI behavior

Line: I tried a shielded Lithus too, but couldn't see that behaviour. Are you alone when that happens? Do you use any modules other than the shield?

Re: Strange AI behavior

We are in group, farming. 4 combats, 2 supports, 1 lithus. I'll try to make a video later today, to show what exactly I mean.

Re: Strange AI behavior

Thanks, that would be helpful.

Re: Strange AI behavior

Had exactly the same issue during some pve sessions. The noise is annoying.

It was very flagrant during beacons farming. 1 of 2 beacon was bugged, NPC were stuck just locking/unlocking until dying. And it was happening randomly to one of us.

Re: Strange AI behavior

Was unable to do video yesterday, you know why smile Coming soon tho.

Here you go:

Actually, there is another strange thing in this video. Music that you can hear is repeating again and again a whole time I'm outside. Same can be in other islands with other music.

Re: Strange AI behavior

Please see if you can reproduce this now, there have been some tweaks in yesterday's patch.
