Field Container is easy. Container itself is made based on transdimensional technology. When you open the container and put stuff in it its being stored in a transdimensional pocket, thats why there is no end to how much you can store. Technology is not perfect so you can only keep that "pocket" open for a limited amount of time. Pocket will close eventually and will eat the container itself.

Or it the opposite. it doesn't create a new dimension, but enlarges the one inside the container. the thing you bring is capsule so its small. When deployed it enlarges the room inside the container, also it locks its self into the ground so that no one can steal it or whats inside(same for pocked demotion think of doctor who's tartirs) seeing it was made for trading between ppl. It destroys itself after not being used because the aliens don't what to litter on there planet and its hard to trow something away that is unmovable and stuck to the ground.
they are an advance race of aliens, we don't have to understand as long as its useful and harmless.
