Topic: Sequer Shield Absorbtion bonus

I noticed something a bit off with shields my basic robotics is at 4 so my bonus would be 20% but the parameter comes out saying 0.88 not 0.80 so i thought perhaps the bonus stacked differently subtracting 5% from the value each time but by level 3 I hit 0.85749375 which didn't work out either so something just ain't right

It is working properly.

It's not 5% of all possible incoming damage.  It's a 5% reduction of the % that currently is unblocked.

Basically:

L1 = 100% * .95 = .95
L2 = 95% * .95 = .9025
L3 = 90.25% * .95 = .857375
L4 = 85.7375% * .95 = .81450625

...

This yields diminishing returns, and keeps you from ever reaching 100% damage reduction.
