Topic: New Mining Missions - COME ON!

Is this really necessary? Why do I have to have the misison while mining to be able to turn in my collected mission mineral?

I thought the point was to be able to turn these in after regular mining? So I have to keep this mission active every time I mine in order to be able to turn them in?

Furthermore, I would like some clarification. When I obtain special chance (crit, rare, etc) minerals, does it replace one of my cycles or is it in addition to my cycles?

If it is in the stead of my cycle, I would like to be compensated for wasting cycles on mission minerals that have no value besides the 150 titan ore they recycle to.

Re: New Mining Missions - COME ON!

Yes it seems you have to keep mission active in order to work, I don't know if it stops a cycle, you can check whilst your are doing it if u are lucky enough to get 1 rare mineral in that cycle using 1 miner only.

I thought Devs were going to compensate for walking time in missions, I have not tried many so not sure about these changes.

Who actually does missions anyway?  Real men can't be bothered servicing the needs of others.  Real men service themselves!

Re: New Mining Missions - COME ON!

Mission rewards should only be given when you're on an active mission of that type. If you choose to stockpile useless items during the mission then do be it.

Else you'd have to make them hand ins and instead of 5 it would need to be 15 or something like that.

But I do like the idea of items found while mining in certain areas that will increase standings.

Re: New Mining Missions - COME ON!

Yeah, well that's explicitly why they did that. I mined up a couple dozen Liq mission items. They don't want the mission to be a bacon dispenser. I could just chain turn-in (4) in a row for 200k from about an hour's worth of mining, plus the actual value of the Liq I mined.

But, if they are actually taking up a cycle I'm going to be upset. Liq recycles into 24 units with my pitiful skill, while of course a single cycle would normally give me around 450. If it's a cycle of Liq + the item, then no complaints on increasing my yeild occasionally by 24 units.

Re: New Mining Missions - COME ON!

Every rare mineral is just a "sideproduct" of a normal mining cycle.

And Arga is right, we don't want people to stockpile them and turn them in en masse.

How hard would it be to make it so the special side product doesn't drop if you don't have the assignment?

This can be applied to all assignments.

Look put this way, if they allow to stockpile and turn in the mission items, its not a mission anymore. Might as well scrap the mission altogether and introduce npc buy orders for the required item at the same price.

I know, but you were paying me seven NIC last night, as I recall.  Then again, you did insist on getting back change.

Oh, 10 this time!  A little more of this and I'll be able to compete in the 50 NIC market.

Re: New Mining Missions - COME ON!

I like where this is going.

Re: New Mining Missions - COME ON!

Where is it going anyway?  Were I to guess, I'd say it's going to end with us generally in agreement that we're going to all stockpile and turn in en masse.  Though , Zoom is probably already shaking his head at us about the other business being discussed.
