Topic: Firearms specialisation

Hi all

I am new to the game, so take this as basicaly a newb question :-)

After going through the market, equip/robot information and some guides, I noticed that there is no firearm specialised bot except the Arkhe (which however gets generic turret bonuses).

Afterwards I discovered that the conventional firearms are a kind of universal secondary weapon for everybody except Pelistal (since they lack turret points on most of the bots).

Can a Pelistal (or for all factions) light/assault bot with firearms bonuses get implemented ? Maybe that's a stupid request :-) But when starting out on the Arkhe, one usualy puts EP into firearms and then finds out that it's the only bot where they make some sense.

a DEV should do a sticky about firearms

1. small firearms are useless because of their short range
2. medium firearms are great because they got similar DPS as factional weapons equipped on a bot that has a bonus (means: they are great even if you are not having any bonus on your bot like all ewar bots/mechs or industrials)

3. who knows what the neaer future will bring regarding firearms wink

Thanks for that information. I was suspecting I am missing some info. Then I just need to decide on a bot with lots of turrets and reactor/cpu power.

I searched the forums for threads on firearms prior to posting this, however I did not find much relevant information.

small firearms are missing the machine gun types that's the only big gap atm for me.

no small weapon has the short range version of its type.

and even shorter range on small firearms? wouldn't make sense, really

think of it as a shotgun style weapon. deadly up close, rapidly decreasing effect with range.
