Topic: Object skin loading error

ok right was just posting here to see if anyone has any advice for the situation i currently find myself in. The situation at hand is one where most skins for buildings are bright blue or orange which obviously didnt take long for me to realise that these werent actually the correct skins smile. this doesnt happen to mechs unless they have a shield around them in which they will turn a really bright orange/yellow colour, however other than that all of the mech skins are fine.

I dont believe this to be a gpu memory error. however if previous instances have occured, for reference my gfx card is the nvidia geforce 8800gt 512mb card. i have the latest drivers updated so i dont feel it to be a driver related issue and no matter how much i play around with the graphical settings, nothing seems to solve the problem here.

i will personally like to thank the help of anyone that replies and i will try to upload images as soon as i find out how to do that without a attach file option smile

yours faithfully
DrWockles

Found during the patch after deleting the GBF file and having it crash after about 400meg.

Not the same. This is an issue with the GBF file!
You can force it to happen (Or could) by waiting for a runtime error while patching) Now if you delete the GBF and close the client around 300Meg it'll happen. I managed to recreate it twice... That was a good waste of bandwidth! big_smile

Re: Object skin loading error

well when i was installing the game initially i got a runtime error, however all of my mates got that as well yet this problem is only occuring for me. Do you have any ideas on how i can get this to stopped happening, like re install or something like that

Re: Object skin loading error

Alexander - not its the same.

i'm kinda able to reproduce this with simply deactivating the vsync and sitting in terminal with two clients. once the fans of the card cannot keep up with the heat, the textures start to mess up. Closing both clients and restarting them fixes it without any GBF downloading...

even more funny is when muzzleflash sprite is replaced with someones avatar...

Re: Object skin loading error

k right, i did manage to correct this problem. indeed as alexander said it was a problem with the gbf file, i deleted it in my game folder and after the update i haz correct skins and textures smile
