The real point is that if new players are going to participate in pvp, they wont be running in heavies, due to them being too expensive EP-wise.

You can make things useful with basic robot extensions to help new players large bonuses to hit dispersion etc...
quick fix:
double dispersion of all medium weapons, except missiles. they should have a chance to miss smaller targets even with maxed extensions

That's the real fix. The last thing you need is to buff ewar. I would probably go further and have dispersion reduce the damage for long range guns to a third, a fifth for short range.
I would increase light ewar to assault size too.
A max damage assault does a sixth of the damage of a maxed heavy.
there are to many interlocking attributes to further discuss this without going into every detail.
giving a shield bonus to every light ewar would not make new player better with them, but vets more likely "unkillable"
increasing the dispersion of medium weapons significantly, would automatically make small combat robots valiable combat participants, and double-medium armor fit assaults would still be easy targets for medium weapons.
but if you go that way, then you also need to FIX those other imbalances like "med aux. accumulators" not having ANY penalty like reduced reactor stability, bigger shields on smaller bot not overriding the hit size with the shield-radius,
and range extender not having any penalty for zero-los modules.

But that would make vets on light ewars more tanky aswell. Back to unkillable Troiars then?

If a new player comes along and wants to Pvp what's their options? Light bot? Assault? Light ewar? We let's look at each one:
Light bot: small dps, short range and no tank ( not practical!)
Assault bot: moderate dps, short range and ok tank, if fitted correctly.
Light ewar: no dps, longer range and no tank.
Well how do new players fight Seths online? Light bot is out the window and assaults have no range, why not fill that void with something that has compatible range as a veteran player?? Hmm.. Stay out of demob range and provide effective assistance to other vets! Win win!

If you read what was posted instead of bieng an echo chamber then you would see he advocated nerfing heavies compared with lights and ewar.

and your noob cannot use the "EWAR" due to ECMs using lots of EP just to be able to jam a vet seth mk2 a few times before running out of accumulator.
so, the only thing you would buff with that, is your multiboxed alt with maxed extensions in that field.

You want to attempt some balance around Zero skill Players KILLING the biggest bot in the game.
What with numbers, no, with shear stupidity.
Teach em LOS, with ECM, Suppress or whatever we think is the better flavor.
