I don't see the pitfalls and complexities with alliances. CEO of corp A creates an alliance for a fee. Corp B,C,D join. Corp A CEO becomes alliance leader by default. Corp A Decides one day, to boot Corp D, Corp B and C are not happy with the decision they leave alliance and create new alliance together with corp D, Corp A looses out.
Being alliance leader does not mean you always have the upper hand.
If the "Alliance" holds the outpost, all the corps leaving will be locked out of their bots. If Corp A is fairly strong, it could take a long time for them to put togehter enough resources as another alliance, to destabilize the outpost enough to regain access.
What's wrong, is that even now, corporations are making the same complaint, that the 'owner' corp could lock them out, and this is why they want an alliance feature to prevent.
So, for your example, an alliance system isn't needed. The current system of a single corp owning an outpost and setting up access rights provides exactly the same type of scenrio. The only difference with an entity alliance would be the sharing of the auras.

those are the things to start with. connecting alliance/corp/player interaction to npc-standings is another desirable game mechanic that IS necessary.
NO corp standing to NPC. it was the worst EVE mechanic evar.
because eve and wow mechanics are so bad those game died long ago, and this one is flourishing.
beacuse the skinner box mechanics do not work on humans, this game doesn't need them.
