I'll say again. I did buy multiple prerelease accounts /and at the momen im drunk to bbot). I still agree that there IS an issue here. If people who discovered the game after release think it is an issue, then it is an issue albeit an easily solvable one.

The prerelease bonus was to big imho. Let people buy premium accounts that start with 40k ep for a few dollars more and it is solved. We still got out bonus, people saying that ep doesnt matter shouldn't feel threatend by it and it won't alienate new players.

The 1 week prestart was a huge game affecting bonus. 40k ep instead of 20k was a huge bonus.

I did get the bonus ep but I won't mind if others get it as well. in fact I can't see the reason for them not to. The only thing you get for giving different starting posibilities are disgruntled new players and why oh why would anyone want this. Wither give the the ep for free or give them the posibility to ipgrade/repurchase premium with one time cost and get the same starting ep count as the rest of us. it will affect prerelease people alot less compared to what  not giving will affect after release people...

cheers

Thats the point isn't it. If, as most people seem to say, it doesn't matter, why would it alienate the beta testers to create a more expensive account form with the only difference that you start with 40k ep instead of 20k? We still got something for free, both ep and head start but now people can pay a little to get part of what we got for free. This should alienate as few as possible why lowering some of the aggro they get from new players.

More pleased players means better word of mouth/better reviews/more players who stay meaning more players meaning more cash for our beloved devs. Would seem a win win to me but I guess I could be wrong about the alienating part. However if I am then the issue would be bigger than most care to admit.

Humph, said I wouldn't post more about this in another thread and already broke it twice... damn you forum addiction, damn you.

edit: realized elevating means quite the opposite of what I intended, so removed it.

An mmorpg should encourage all kinds of player interaction imho. I agree with the problem that it is to  difficult to send information, chat, etc with people you encounter at the moment. pm is not good enough. can be missed, aint got multiple users etc. Not sure about bubble chat but a (sorry for the steve) local channel, in range or some such would be nice.

Would be nice if it was split from the other chats per defualt as well

My idea for solution: Create a deluxe acount version that starts with the 40k and costs a couple of dollars more. Since most of you don't think it affects gameplay, you should be fine with this and those who missed the prerelease has an opportunity to start with the same base as us prereleasers so they should be happy.

I do have 2 prerelease acounts and I still kinda agree with op.
In a sandbox like this the ep difference now is a huge thing. Yeah sure, in a few month it won't matter as much but the advantage now, when it is starting up is a huge on. This affects builders the most imho.

The gratification we got from getting the extra ep compared to not getting it will, imo, not compare to the negativity it will create in new members signing up now. I can understand if they had to do it cause they needed cash asap but I do not think it was a good idea. The sandbox game should reward what you make of it, with everyone starting of roughly the same.

Also, the marketing of this game has been almost non existant so it is NOT very strange that people missed the prerelease campaign.

Solution would be to offer a deluxe account signup which gives the 40k instead of the 20k for a few dollars more. Then they have the same opportunity atleast.

However, since I did get the 40k I don't care enough to cry anymore than these 5cents.

ps. All trolling without constructive arguments is always a loose, but I am pretty sure most of you already know this but just don't care.
