Topic: Scheduled server downtime - 2015-08-21

Server will be down on 2015-08-21 from 14:00 servertime/CEST (12:00 UTC) for the deployment of patch 3.6.6, containing a few fixes and smaller improvements. Downtime will be about 1 hour long.

yeah... most important fix: autopilots update to be able to navigate through diagonal gaps.

no more kilometer long detours because a plant grew on a trample-path big_smile

We had to revert that... it was getting interrupted all the time, not sure why. Seemed like it was worse the higher your ping was.

may i ask you (or better gargaj) how the pathfinding currently works in a bit more detail then "a*". Maybe writing it down will help finding the culprint.



about the patchnotes:
as it seems that after 3 years you have noticed the existance of "interference beacons" again. with all those reverts of bandaid fixes in this patch... could you please also revert the LoS limit of IF beacons?

it was only added to prevent me from using them as targets to shoot down walls without plasmabombs. some time ago you enabled shooting them directly, so there is zero reason for IF beacons having that LoS restriction.

last time i checked, turrets havent been affected by them at all (damn npcs)
also, since they are NPCs, they could just add the same logict to them that makes roaming npcs shoot plasmabombs. which is a completely different topic.

Nothing would stop me sitting in a masked ewar bot under a masking node with a masking aura launch interference emitters in the middle of a group that's already A.  Has some interference b.  Dealing with ewar turrets and C.  Grouped tight together.

1 player can easily hide in a safe spot unseen and fend off 100 attackers for 2 hours.

if the attackers are on the intelligence level of those who attacked zion... then why not? (i heard it was defended by someone who was asleep on his keyboard!!)

but who cares actually - noone does or will attack gamma bases for the next two years.
