I broke your sentences out to clarify my point a little better, and Zoom I'm not trying to come off as trying to bash you or your work, you guys have a fantastic game and some of the features in this game are truly amazing. And its really appreciated that you are open to dialogue and discussing things with us. And I hope I am not being annoying or offensive by breaking the sentences out.
1. Because what you propose is only good for those handful of veteran players
Your thinking tunnel vision bud. In the grand scheme players will have to be farming kernals, building research farming fragments and build stock piles to fight wars and pvp with or more efficient mining/harvesting. Will this help the brand new player? Absolutely because it will increase the demands of fragments/kernals and Minerals and on a long term scale the more steps in the production phase you can see sustained growth for the need of fragments and tangible assets. Minable material! You can bring in colixum based minerals to have some weight in the market. Newer corporations can stick a T1 mining terminal down anywhere and mine some colixum, or be sensible and remove the mining tower's NEED to mine colixum and use it like any normal mmo and just have it buff miners in a certain radius over ANY field.
2. even that for a very limited time only.
I been playing for 3 years with T4 caps, I think we could squeak out another 4 years with T5. Even when your ready to introduce "heavy weapons" you don't have to sit through the T1 through T5 gambit you can just introduce two tiers or whatever. Your the developer you have great ideas, I am just taping on the glass outside the box.
3. It wouldn't take long before that would become the de facto standard equipment, practically making some other tier obsolete
Then make T5 heavy as all be. Speed is everything in this game! If T5 reduces your overall KPH by 15 ~ 40 theres a major draw back to using it right there, or Make negative debuffs on it Make the accumulator usage a tidbit higher.
4. not to mention the newbie-veteran gap widening effect it brings.
Don't get mad at me and ban me please, but you already made that gap significantly wider when you did the robot rebalance. Because, you killed Ranged combat. Everything is in your face brawl ERP tanks. Which means bring more people or GTFO. Which made the newbie - Veteran gap huge. Because their EP levels won't allow them to fit certain fits the veterans can and overall they can't produce DPS anywhere close to veterans.
5. And then someone comes with the same complaints, we bring in T6, repeat the above, and I hope you can see where that leads
Zoom isn't that the case of any mmo? Of course over time your player base is going to ask for "New Items (T6)" they are going to ask for more tools to play with. And besides we all know your going to do some major overhaul of modules later in the games lifespan that forces players to respect to a different class for min/max dps.
I hope I have not come across as Sarcastic or degrading I just want to see more Sand in the Sandbox.
Thanks.
