We're still investigating, it seems that only players with specific internet providers are affected. (For example t-online here in Hungary.)

neither does it help requesting a new IP
Apparently AT&T is on that list with Comcast.
btw, if that helps - the ingame traceroute shows NOTHING out of the ordinary for me when i got those lag issues.

I can confirm that, traceroutes are useless in this case. It's the download speed and stability that's atrocious for those connections.

Yes, yesterday we have checked connection speeds on an affected machine by simply downloading a file from the server outside of Perpetuum and it was like 30kb/s. So the client has nothing to do with this.
We are also still in contact with Internap and they said they can see something causing a bottleneck in the network but since it's intermittent they need time to capture it.
You can also test this for your own connection. Start downloading this file and see what average download speed you get compared to your maximum download speed:

Make sure that nothing else is hogging your bandwidth of course.
If it is much lower than your maximum speed (we're talking about in the range of tens of kilobytes/sec which already affects gameplay), then please post the name of your provider. To prove that you have this specific speed problem (and not some other latency issue), please also do a traceroute to www.perpetuum-online.com with WinMTR. 100 cycles should be enough, you can copy&paste the results directly here or optionally use pastebin and post the url (or send a pm to me).
Oh and since this seems to only happen around 18:00-24:00 CET, please also post the time you're doing your test.

That is not fun when you have 2 hour to play and prepare a PVP operation and you are the FC and got N/A.

this afternoon, i was checking TCP connections when i was booted from game and stuck at the "connecting database server" screen.
at that time, the client had the usual connection to relay.perpetuum-online.com with no traffic,
and some traffic to www.perpetuum-online.com <- this connection is the one that checks for client updates, right?

Having trouble logging in at times as well. Having trouble with lag at times, then DC, then trouble logging back in. Takes several times before successful.
