Topic: Need Help on Steam Forums.

So for all you people who really want to see this game succeed, a couple things need to happen.  We have what we think is a bitter player who is creating "new Steam accounts."  Then Up voting his overly negative, misleading review.  Now what I ask from all of you with a little spare time on your hands is do the same and push his review down so that the first thing that's seen on the Steam community forum's review is not some bitter player with no life nerd raging.  I ask this if you want to see new people coming into the game.  So stop fapping to midget porn and go down vote.  FOR GREAT JUSTICE!

its more about getting active players who actually know the game participating on the steam forums

giving the game a review would also help

I think that the reviews that are currently at the top of the list are pretty damn misleading and that this thread is kinda distasteful. People should not be doing vote-manipulation to get bad info to the top, but that really goes for both ends of the spectrum.

Personally, I couldn't recommend anyone to buy into Perpetuum in good conscience, mostly because the current state of the game is pretty bad. And by bad i don't mean the political situation, but everything else.

If perp ever hit a critical mass of 500-1000 concurrent online players I think it would far exceed any other mmo sandbox. Not to mention devs would have enough funding to hire on more devs to do the heavy lifting tongue

seems he missed a "m" there. not any but many.

for example, firefall as themepark mmo currently holds an average of 1000 steam player online

on the other hand, games like Entropy with an average player count of 9 as MMO seems to be what he was talking about.

There's also the issue that some games are advertised as "Massive Multiplayer Online",
while they are just "Online only Multiplayer" games.
Those naturally dead born games do not count.

Well, the individual hasn't let off the negative PR campaign.  And honestly, kudos to those that are doing their best to provide honest and direct answers and responses to his attacks and misconceptions. 
His script to scrape chat logs for activity is interesting, and perhaps points to reporting realtime player data officially rather then letting him control the discussion and make it out to be some intentional PR move by the Devs to mislead the players or potential players.  This data, of course he may doctor with no way for us to prove or say otherwise, which logically he will do.

I post here to say to those that are responding to him: don't!  Just let him say whatever, say your side of the story but don't feed the troll.  Don't address him, address the question from the community and move on.

Steam does have rules and report mechanisms.  So perhaps it might be worth looking into: http://store.steampowered.com/online_conduct/

The only answer I have to people that are dissatisfied with the 'product' is that its categorized as an Indie-MMO, gauge expectations accordingly.  All the people ranting about buying under false pretenses are just cases of impulsive decision making. 

I think it does well considering this, and its price point/no sub.  But these are all opinions after all.

Sorry I don't mean to dredge things up, nor make this bigger than it needs to be.  Hopefully he moves on to slandering another indie game, because you know those greedy deceitful indie companies...

So because it has a "title" of indie game it cannot be criticized?

Laughable at best.

Things should and will be criticized if the product is not up to par.  Gauged by its peers, and by the standards of other games.
If your the first one to come out with a game of its own type you get he luxury of setting the bar. 

Clearly, this game do not have that luxury.
