The public test server for the new research system is open!

Summary of important stuff about the PTS and how to access it:
Installer for the test client: http://content.perpetuum-online.com/fil … p_test.exe
Don't install into the same folder as your live client.
After it’s installed, copy over your Local.gbf file from your normal installation so you don’t have to configure your settings and arrange your windows again.
Log in with your live account.
There is only one island for now, New Virginia. Everyone has been moved there.
You got a gazillion NIC for testing.
You got extra 300 000 EP for testing as well.
Production times are vastly reduced for the sake of... you know. (Displayed times are normal, but the process itself is fast.)
The RP that you have on the test server is what you will have on the live server too when the patch goes live. (Plus what you research in the meantime on the live server.)
Kernels and various industrial resources are available to buy on the market for cheap NIC, but that's not going to be the case on the live server of course.
Testing will commence throughout the weekend and will end some time in the middle of next week. The plan is to deploy the patch to the live server towards the end of next week.
What needs to be tested
The research process itself: Kill NPC/loot artifact -> consume kernel -> unlock items in the knowledgebase -> prototype items (also with bonus) -> mass-produce items with bonus
The workings of the new research access corporation settings.
If you find old kernels anywhere (NPCs, artifacts), that's bad. The exception are the orders you currently have on the market, those were ignored for now during the conversion.
Anything that works on the live server but is broken here should be reported.
Known issues
The old research extension is still there, but that's going to be removed and reimbursed when the patch goes live. (It does nothing anymore.)
The information window of certain CTs displays the prototype items as an end product instead of the normal items.
If you have a doubled terminal chat, that's probably due to the forced moving to TMA terminal.
This post will be constantly updated as we progress with the testing.
Feedback and any issues you find should be posted in this topic.
