Topic: make tutorial more educative

when you join in the game you get also in the tutorial and that is good but, imo the tutorial should make the player practice, the movement tutorial is OK imo there should be more focus on "learning stuff by doing stuff"
i want to see more teaching by doing that go and read the help section, ppl learn about how their smart phones/ipods/ipads/etc work by using them, most of the time ppl dont even read the device manual so dont expect ppl to read the game "manual"

  • after the movement tutorial ends, introduce the news and mail buttons, maybe even send player follow up mails based on their progression in game, a new player upgrade/buy a extension send him a email whit advice on related extensions (like hey you upgraded data processing extension you can upgrade reactor expansion because bla bla bla)   

  • the next should be  the chat channels and make the user join the help and general chat channels and maybe create a test channel where players need to join and then leave the channel how to copy text/links from chat channel can go here (they should copy the test channel MOTD)

  • and now the most important the Agent profile whit allot of details for the extensions part and maybe tell players:

  • how EP is gained, how any buy/upgrade make this EP to be used/lost for ever

  • what make extensions more cheap and more expensive from EP point of view, why specialization counts and attributes counts

  • how to pick the right extensions and maybe make them choose between few basic extensions to buy/upgrade them (data processing targeting reactor expansion)

  • the production tab should need more info and maybe a follow up tutorial when player produce some syn-tec items and after this a more detailed prototype/reverse/production tutorial

  • relations should be quite well explained how to gain more standings what access get a certain levels etc

  • explain that recycle is a way to get commodities

  • standings influence on recycle/repair/refine

  • add syn-tec armor hardeners so player need to equip the robot whit them and see the resistance change, same for speed using syn-tec frames

Yes, devs said that Tutorial will cover more game aspects in the future. Good suggestions and you forgot to add part about insurance which is quite important imho. wink
