Topic: Server downtime on Sept 13

The datacenter where the Perpetuum servers are located will move places soon, so we will have to physically move our servers as well.

To make this possible, the server will be taken offline in the early hours of Tuesday, September 13, and will return into service later that day during the evening hours (exact times will be announced later).

Since this process not only affects the game servers, but everything else too, our website and all connected services will be also unavailable for that time. Players will be of course compensated for the lost time by extending their account expiration by one day (EP accumulation is unaffected by the downtime).

Re: Server downtime on Sept 13

This sounds great. I really hope it helps the game.

Re: Server downtime on Sept 13

Any specifics where the new servers will be located?

Still in Budapest. Unfortunately this is not yet THAT server move you're hoping for.

I hope THAT server we're hoping for is NOT in the US.

Re: Server downtime on Sept 13

In my opinion; even with all the dedication and skill in world, moving a server base and getting it running in a day seems optimistic. To avoid frustration, I wouldn’t make plans to play Perpetuum on the 13th.

They're not moving it far. Apparently someone in IRC said the ISP was moving data centres or something. The migration hopefully won't take too long if it's just across town.
