So how is it that some people were able to create their characters before 18:00 CET on Nov. 18th (e.g. every member in a certain corporation)?

Without further information, I would guess that you saw the members of the developer team.

If you are basing that on forum post times, then please set your timezone properly in Profile/Settings smile

I was the first character in game with my character Zep. He was created exactly 18.00.

This was the first character created, it seems.  The one before is "Not a GM", which was created before the server was opened.
