Topic: Role in PvP for indus players

Hi,

I'm not sure to post in the good category so sorry if it's not here.

For some time, i wonder how to PvP with an indus player. Our skills in military are very expensive and not really efficient. But the only equipment that I found useful are RR, is there something else ? Like Electronic Warfare ?

And the big problem with indus robot is that they are really slow (Argano is totaly useless)...

So i'm a little lost to choose how to play in PvP (or wich robot choose and how to fit it), i didn't find a lot of informations about support robots.

Thanks for your help and sorry for my poor english wink.

Re: Role in PvP for indus players

RR is an option as you said.

The other option is engaging in Market PvP and beating your opponent by getting that bargain deal on that mech or t4 module.

Re: Role in PvP for indus players

Scout, Remote Rep, Surprise Suicide Hauler Bonzai Unit

Re: Role in PvP for indus players

Thanks for the informations !

So, the only solution is to do only RR... ?
For the scout work, indus bots are all very slow.

Re: Role in PvP for indus players

Yes, RR is the easiest way to go. Scouting can work too, just pick something other than an industrial bot to do it in.

Market PvP is pretty much impossible, unless you have several friends with you.

I'd advise spending more in combat related extensions- it's rather obvious now that PvP is the direction the devs are going.

Re: Role in PvP for indus players

Okay...

So the support's roles are indeed very limited ; i'm afraid that in the futur the indus specialization will become totaly useless in PvP hmm (especially with an efficient self-repair) and we can't say that the current RR is really fun to play.

Re: Role in PvP for indus players

What? dude it's like no ep to get into an ewar bot and dampen...

After you play the game for so long your miner specializations are at some plateau, yeah you can get that .000008 more mineral so you get 123k more per hour, but your corp could use a scout.

Re: Role in PvP for indus players

Wait you're in d00bs corp, lol, even your miner bots are deadly!

Re: Role in PvP for indus players

Forget it. You are useless in a pvp world. They don't want us in it as shown by patches like this latest. Find new game this one isn't player friendly unless you are in a dev corp.

please show me the pvp fitting with an efficient self repair - i really wanna go for that.

Industrial roles in PvP:

- Remote Repair
- Energy Transfer
- NEXUS buffer (accumulator, shield and velocity nexus are usefull for both combat and pvp)
- loot-collector (heavy armored Lithus, shield tank sequer)
- Neutralizer (shield-tank termis with neuts/drainer)

If your mining on Beta, its obviously that you got your armor or shield skills up, a good accumulator is a must have for miner, and due to the high fitting costs of mining industrial equip, you should be able to fit neuts, shields and such without problems.

This is false hmm

OP: There are many useful things you can do with an industrial character in PvP as suggested. Have fun yarr

Re: Role in PvP for indus players

Industrial players pvp on the market and deny resources to other players

Thats my take on their attitude as well. Its obvious which direction they are pushing the game.  How thats going to work out in the mid to long term is any ones guess. But its not six years ago, and they don't really have an established player base to work with. CCP can get away with this attitude because they do have an established player base.  But it wouldn't be the first(or last) time that Dev's Vision)tm) has iinterfered in a games success.

Yes, it's rather disappointing to me. Don't get me wrong- there's nothing bad about a PvP focused game, obviously there are many people who will enjoy it. But there are many who wanted something more- I've already seen several people declaring that it's time to find another game- a bit dramatic and premature, but increasingly becoming the only remaining option.

You're right that the this direction might be a problem in the long run, mainly because the resulting game lacks depth. Changes like this make PvP fun again for a little while, but eventually it becomes repetitive again.

Of course, maybe we've had our head in the clouds- we need to realize that the dev team may simply be too small to handle the kind of complexity we've been calling for- a small, stable population of happy PvPers may be exactly the goal they have in mind.

Lol savin, your to much fun,.. when is your head not in the clouds,..

,. back on topic,.

I see no problems with the sequer in a healer/support role. lots of cargo to piss away booster charges,. , clearly a good shield tank,. 4 high slots for ew ,. etc etc.. is this not obvious ???

Re: Role in PvP for indus players

sequer = radar bait.

sequer without masking module can be seen at 2250m by small bot or mech with standard detector.

Well, I'd rather have it in the clouds than up my A$$ like yours... lol

Now pay attention to Annihilator: he's better at comprehending things than you are.

- back on topic -

PvE still has some meaning, just less than before. A lot of industrial players will have to learn to operate under the protection of a corp, and probably spend more EP than they intended in order to fulfill the roles described above. But it's still an option.

Re: Role in PvP for indus players

Some of these posts seem to think that an industrial character has too limited a role in PvP.

...??

It's a matter of choices.

You can't choose an industry spec and expect to be optimised for combat. If that were the case, the whole idea of specialisation would be useless. I actually think the balance is right. As other people have already suggested, you can take an industrial character and give it a support role in pvp.

But if you really care that much about having a pvp character...get a second account? For the majority of people the subscription cost is negligible.

Re: Role in PvP for indus players

Yes, that's the answer customers always love to hear: you need to spend more. tongue

I think that the OP's question might be an indication of a larger issue: what's the use of an industrial character? A lot are feeling put out by this patch; it seems they are being forced into combat roles or joining a Beta corp.

Re: Role in PvP for indus players

Savin, sometimes your posts read like "if you do PvP, you wont need to care about where your stuff comes from"

sure, some pvp corporations have a *** of NIC and equipment - but someone had to make that. From what i heard, losing bots in battles was a good way to make money from the insurance payout.

I know the role of an indus character is support, i'm just wondering how to do it efficiently since there is not a lot of informations about it.

And thanks for the informations, it's a bit clearer now.
