Was thinking of coming back for a look but wanted to know if it was even worth it.

Last I heard Green got smashed by a balance patch gone wrong.

Is this still the case?

Fantastic pic. Shows exactly what Perp needs more of.

1 person with 50 accounts???

????

Seems a little late for a wipe now as the time has past, missed the boat, etc...

Lol, I think an email to all previous players and the release of new Pve content as well as a server wipe would entice new and old players to return. Who doesn't miss t1 fit assault battles that felt like it was a whole days worth of work?

I'm sure most everyone has played pokemom at some point and beat the game but started over fresh to try and find a new challenge.

I said they should of done a server wipe when they went to steam, they would of kept a lot of the new players as they would not of had the vets to deal with.

I have not played in a long time as have moved and now live in a mining camp with very crap internet, but when and if I come back I have more than enough stuff not to ever need to buy from the market again.

Can I play too?

Edited to give the Devs the benefit of the doubt

I remember my first Argano sneaky trips into what was then M2S held hostile territory (Hokk) to mine Epriton.  Scary as hell!

@ Lobo - Looking back on the kills, it was a year ago that Vaelen Gar and I started the Castel roams.  So I would of only had 300K EP.

http://perp-kill.net/?m=view&id=7546

Thinking on that, now my Castel would be even more deadly.

Edit:

@ Obi - Yes light bot roams are the most fun, and a mixed group of lights, light EW & assaults is fantastic as well.  Heaps better than the slow *** heavy mech roams people want to do.  Bigger is not always better people.  Just consider how many light or assault bots you could lose for the price of 1 heavy mech.

Light bots are not that useless, I have roamed in a Castel many a time.  Myself and another Castel took out a T4 autocannon fit Artemis.

The problem is, if you give them more slots you reduce the gap to assault bots and they become even less of an option.  I think a little more speed, lock range, smaller hit size and maybe 1 extra head slot is all that is needed.  They are not supposed to be able to beat equal numbers of larger bots.  But a group of 3 or 4 lights should cause a solo mech pilot cause for concern.

The reason no one uses them is that everyone that can drive a mech will only drive a mech,  so the group of light bots is only a hit and run option.  Kill something then get the hell outa dodge, as you know the responce will be 5 MK2 Mechs and a fast tackle coming to get you.

I'm always amazed by how many people actually likes to play solo in mmorpgs. I'ts noticeable everywhere. There's nothing won by fighting it.
I've tried soloing at points and it's not rewarding. After the 5th or 6th logistic run somewhere I just start thinking that I should do something fun with my time instead. sad

If I however look back and try to recollect the best and most fun gaming experiences I've had. It's always Perp that comes to mind.

When playing alone you want to shoot yourself in the foot.
When playing with others in combined efforts this game shines.

Devs ARE working on more pve content. Hopefully we'll get great fun in the future for all playstyles.

Not all new players want to join a corp right away, and they shouldn't have to.  If they want to go to Beta or Gamma sure they will need to.  Staying on Aplha for the first weeks/months there should be no reason to join a corp, hell they may even decide to make their own corp which can only be good for the game.

I really think that the nerf to spawns on all the islands that happened ages ago was the point where what the OP is talking about occured.

I remember when I first started you had to learn quick that the NPCs didnt mess around.  I lost quite a few castels in the early days but it was exciting, heart in your throat stuff.  Running out in your new bot to kill or be killed and getting away with 3hp got the heart going and hooked me.

Looking at the alpha 1 islands now its Arkhes every where (NPCs).  You need to go a long way to find a spawn that will give you a run for your money.  Bring back the alpha spawns close to the terminals and the roaming mobs/observers.  First time I meet an observer it supprised the ^$#* outa me, was only a Baph but trying to work out a way to kill them in a light bot gave me hours of fun.

Not sure this has made sence but I have had dealings with a few new players over the last couple of weeks trying to get some of them to stay, but trying to find a spawn close to terminal enough as they need to use plates due to only starting out which means they are going slow so a 10min walk or longer looking for a spawn for just the 3U cargo of a light bot minus the ammo they are carrying I will admit is very dull.

Hope they bring back the good old days...
