Ditto!

So you want all bots to be the same? Shall we all drive VW bugs too?
Looks like you are the one QQ over minor differences. if you are unhappy in your current mech, drive a different one instead of trying to get nerfs implemented to fit your idea of whats right.

It looks like you spend way too much time worrying someone else has any advantage and you want everyone to be the same. (balance) is a fantasy. If I was your boss on earth I'd fire you so fast for wasting company time! Get to work pulling resources from the ground and send it on.. that's your job! Leave the designs to the designers, it's not your task.

Bummer dude! Have you deleted, reinstalled the perpetuum.gbf file?  try it.. delete that file only in your Perp dir and then relaunch.. it will re-download it.

NAV 10 is necessary for all aspects of Perp. Start with it and work on other skills. All period. Assignments, PvP, hauling.. everything! Just do yourself a favor and start with it maxed, you will always be glad for the speed. Not 6 or 8, you will be left behind. You could start at 9 but then that last point will take you awhile and you will be tempted to spend the ep on other "cheaper" skills before clicking it.

Ask anyone that has been here awhile.

p.s. As it is, NAV is a cheap skill and it doesn't take a lot to max it. Compare it to Adv Rob cost and smile.

Thanks!

btw, I love SADE smile

This game had a 1.0 release, what, 6 months ago? You're still having massive problems with lag and crashes and bugs in the game. I would say this has real potential maybe with 1-2 years solid work on it but you're expecting people to pay money for something that performs like an early beta / late alpha?

I like this project, but there's no way I would pay a monthly sub for a game with this many performance / engine issues.

Your name suits you. "this many.." is really just your view atm. Perpetuum is about the most stable, bug free game there is. Usually smile  The current issues are as you have read somewhere I'm sure, are because of a doubling of the users in last few days.  I AGREE it shouldn't be, but that's life. Let them fix it and you will find that we have a very stable play area that works quite nice. Many of us play for many hours at a stretch with no issues and I'm sure it will be fixed soon and back to normal as far as logins/player caps removed etc.

All I can say to the OP is you are mistaken and play more to see for yourself.  Recently a pvp corp reset many of their characters to be missile pilots because of range etc, thinking to blot out the suns with flying dps to their opponents. They lost the battles! Every mech in NIA has advantages and disadvantages.. it depends on the situation you face. As you will find soon, we have different fit-outs for different areas of fighting. To be successful there should be a mix of mechs in any group for efficiency and abilities of each, never a blob of same mechs. Many have tried and found out that missile bots are not OP, just another way of doing the task. As for LOS haha.. missiles are not shoot-and-forget death tools here.. we have to work for our kills along with everyone else. You can't know how many trees and plants I've razed shooting targets and don't even think about going 1v1 either.. missiles are steady dps but nowhere near OP. "We" have already been nerfed for range, no need to nerf us more or relegate our choice for something else.

I'm used to this since I lived through the 900+ exception error windows that would tile across my screen in Eve or the eternal black screens of death upon session change...for months on end. Not really concerned about getting comp'd on time because of servers having issues.

A big lag spike about two hours ago cost me a Yagel + fittings (all T1 stuff) and it kind of hurt the wallet a bit being a new player and all, but really it is just par for the course. Already made enough NIC to be able to buy one on the market and just keep going.

Glad to see devs trying to get it situated

If you petition a GM or Dev, you will be reimbursed for lost mechs due to server issue. YES THEY DO! Be in the last station you were in before you lost it and they will return it to you as equipped when you lost it. Just NOTE you will have 0 HP. Undock from station and repair it to full yourself.  (its 0 because thats the last instance of your mech before it was blown up and thats just how it works)

If you are reading this as of June 2011.. many of the above have changed so be sure to find out more in game and from patch logs which can be found in your mail in game or on the web here. Still, some of the info is good base stuff to know.

Just a fyi.. there is a almost weekly podcast done here by a couple players. Look for it.. Gremrod and Kalsius.. Maybe if you want to listen here is link to latest..

Enjoy and welcome!

If you have a problem with a corpmate looting "your" can, maybe you are in the wrong corp. Capitalist piggy corps self destruct over issues like that. Communist corps that work for common good do not. Seriously, think hard about who you want fighting/killing with you. If you can't trust your corp "brother/sister" then you may have a corp issue and not a free loot issue.

As it is, it works. My corpmate hollers that he has a can needing hauling.. it doesn't matter what squad I'm in I can go help. Sometimes there is a need to be in different squads so no need to swap and switch or use PW for all cans etc. If someone was to join your corp to rip it off ala steve, they could only get away with very little before being caught and dismembered.

Nekkura, we speak all languages on TS but mostly English sorta kinda. (some of us are from Texas) Call to Action? it's a bit different here. We "own" an outpost. If another corp wants to take it, they sign up for an "Intrusion" to try and take it. We have usually days notice before it happens so we can time our defense accordingly. You will have to speak in TS for details as it is a bit complicated how it works and it will probably change anyway in the future. As for women.. we have some! Our illustrious leaders better half is a lovely critter named Bibi.. you would like her I bet. More are welcome. (especially if they send me some fried chicken!)

P.S. so you know, we are a communist corp. We do all together, never solo (we live on beta-PvP island) and so you always have friends near and helping. The corp provides all you need because we all provide for the corp. It is different than the capitalist piggy corps most are used to in most games. We have players on pretty much 24x7 so there's always someone to talk with or do stuff with. Hope to see you sometime in game.
Be well.

ditto.. and Omens cool for a white guy.

You should have been here when you had to stay within 30M from can to use it! Now we have 100M and it is sweet.

As others said, you will find out that it is no problem really.. your corp will help haul for you if you do the mining. If not, holler to me and I'll help smile

Look for the Perpetuum Planner hereabouts in general I think.. it is a offline utility that you can use to see how most extensions are and how points spent would be.

P.S. Sorry, it's in Guides section actually..

Very seriously, only a y instead of a lol. Too funny for many of us. Good luck and be well.

I logged in a little bit ago with 2 clicks, stayed in for about an hour no problem, so most of you should be able to get in. (Unless its 1200 of you at once maybe)

I thank you. That is exactly why "we" do these things. The spirit of it.

Syndic is a great leader of CIR and has heart whether some believe or not. I look forward to seeing you all soon enough. Be well and carry some WD-40 in your mechs. NIA is very dusty!

Like to mine? Help produce mechs and modules? Like to blow up mechs? Like to hear strange and wonderful languages from all over the world?

Join CIR if you have what it takes!

I don't know you well yet but welcome and good luck. I like your corp symbol smile

We have good time mining, fighting, roaming or at BBQs so come enjoy!

Glimpse..

I know you wish we/Syndic had exploited and been caught but unfortunately for your twisted self brosef, thats not the case. We mine, we produce, we fight. From hard work all of our resources are made (and from looting some enemies that used to carry T4 gear).
You can just waste time trying to expose something that doesn't exist vs everyone exposing what your corp did.

P.S. as you now see! Welcome to the light side (RED) smile

Edit: Off topic. - DEV Calvin

"and rather than do the "sensible" thing and join a bigger established corporation we figured why be tax donkeys and get nothing for it."

You will learn there is good reason to join established corp. No-one is a tax donkey here. I would place a sizable bet that you will revert to "sense" and join a larger corp within a month if you stay in game. You will also find no mercenary's are needed here. There is no bounties to collect, no advantage to blowing up anyone's bot/mech considering they can just jump in another one and carry on. Almost all battles are corp vs corp, we all love each other so we don't have individual grudges and revenge attitudes. This is NOT that other game.

Regardless, I wish you well.

Play for a month then see how things are. New players assume NIC is so wonderful when it is not. Mining is done to manufacture bots/mods, not for cash. Only n00bs with piggy capitalist ideals desire cash. After you have played awhile you learn that NIC is a very minor thing here.
