I think it is just fine as it is now. (when it comes to new cost of things). Before this update everything was to cheap it was just a matter of a couple of months before everyone would be running around in t4 equipment and heavy mechs, losing it and not caring about it at all.

We need to have expensive stuff. If everyone have easy access to t4 items this game would be boring. I want to work my *** of to be able to have the best mech and the best equipment as it was before the patch everyone could have it in a few days.

The patch was all good and it was not nerfed to much.

The problem with your logic is that the non PvP parts of the game have to be interesting in order to make players farm a lot of time to pay their ship. Actually, the PvE is just an introduction to PvP and I can't imagine players wait more than 2 month before going in their mech and go to beta island. They will just leave the game.

I'm quite agree with Euphoric. It would be better for the game to quickly release lot of new deserts island that release one by one beautiful and detailled islands.

The problem by releasing few island each time is that you let big corporations prepare themself to take control of the new islands as soon as they are released. We need, don't know, maybe 20 or more island soon, in one patch to make it impossible, even for biggest corporation, to be prepared to control them all and lets some smaller corps take a part of the cake.

I would prefer 20 more deserts by month, than 2 high-detailled island. In addition, with player vegetation, terraforming, players building... maybe most details would be added by players themself. So you could concentrate your efforts by creating a good terrain generator and be able to release new island really often. To give the feeling to players that we are dominating a new earth, not a new resort islands.

After some times playing, I decided to make a post about my and my corp feedback about the game.

First, I want to say that I'm an old EvE player and all my corp too. So I will probably make some comparaisons with that game, but we can say that this game is a EvE-like. It's not a bad thing, there are quake-like, wow-like and now, EvE-like.

So, after some times playing, I will continue that game, some of my friends too, but some of my friends no. I can understand why they stop and I'm quite agree with their argument. It's not enought for me to stop because I hope to see a lot of improvements in the future, but I understand them and that's why I decided to create that post.

On the first connection, the game seems wonderful, you like or not, but when you like, you love. This is acquired that all eve players are naturally attracted by the game. Complex and interesting production system, player driven market, complex eve fitting system... All the good things of eve with a more dynamic mouse-keyboard combat system. You made a lot of dreams true with that concept.

BUT there are some critical missing points to make that game fun in the long time.

First, we need more island, far more island (especially for beta). Actually, the game is made to be dominated by few powerfull corporations. A lot of players are micro corporation of friends that wants to play together. But there are no places in beta island for this kind of players (don't know if you have some stats, but it's probably the majority of your players).

So, either you stay in alpha by farming the same boring mission, either you mine (but will never be able to produce something interesting because some of things can only be mined on beta island), either you wait some improvements (what I do), either you stop (what some friends did).

One solution to that problem is to create more  more more island (especially beta). The game have to be so big that even small corporation, with small scouting could find their little eldorado on beta. We need this feeling to discover an huge world and to conquest it. It must have a place for all players gamestyle and not only for big military corporations.

On the other hand, travel in one island is so boring, we are so slow (or, to be precise, we have a so slow feeling!) we need to be able to go between 2 points faster with modules, with jetpack, with whatever, but faster.

Another big problem is related to PvE. A lot of players are not ready for PvP in arkhe with syn-tech turret. Some players prefers to discover the game with a long PvE time, the time to have enought skills to have the ship they want for PvP. And the PvE content is way too repetitive to keep that kind of players.

First, PvE mission are not balanced. In 3 hours of game I found a technic to make money easily. Go Asyntech take Luna#1 and Cyrus#1 (Geology) and farm them with you arkhe and some geoscanner charges. Each travel = 40k NIC for about 3 min.

And, just beside that, you have some fight missions that will take you 30 min to complete, that will give you 12k NIC, that will cost a lot of ammos... Ok you will have kernels, but believe me, the travel missions are more profitable (and if you have alts, it's jackpot). And what about lvl 2, lvl 3, lvl4 missions that requite to travel a full PVP island for a little more than 200k. (I do 10 time the geology mission with my arkhe to do the same)... So, after discovered that trick, all the corp mates began to farm it. Really boring, but it was the best way to make money, so you continue and you become crazy... big_smile

I have a lot of hope in this game but there are a really lack of content to make it works in the long time. I hope, DEVs, that you are aware about that because, without that, I don't think you will have the same success story than CCP whereas you could because the game base is really great (but it's just a base).

Thank you for reading.

Another thing that could be done is a mission creator integrated to the game. This is a sandbox game, the main guideline of that kind of game is to make is to let players do what they want in specified universe. This is a success for the market, but not for PvE at the moment.

If players could create missions, it would add a new level of sandbox to the game. The game would see his number of mission increase quickly and this would be far more exciting for players to make mission for another player than make mission for NPCs. In addition, it could render service to players that could "hire" others players to do something for them.

Why not imagine a sytem where players could create their own mission. Instead of working on a "all random system", we could allocate ressources to make an usable editor integrated to the game and the players or corporations could create their own in addition to the npc's ones.

This would complete a several objective :
- Bring a new breath to the gameplay which is quite repetitive.
- The players that complete the mission have the feeling to do something usefull for others. This is far more exciting that have the thanks of an NPC.
- Players or corporation that create missions could avoid something they don't like in the game (ex : mining big_smile) and they could do what they like to do in the game for some NICs ^^

It seems that with this game, you try to find the real source of the problem when there is one (for example the original collision system to make pvp more balanced when a smaller gang engage a bigger one). I really think that doing that mission editor for players would resolve a lot ones. Think to it big_smile

A easier fix for the map problem would be to make the corner of the map a teleport to a straight line on the other map.

See the screenshot (the green lines and dot). Ths idea is if you go to a corner of the map and continue to walk on the direction of another island, it teleport you on the other island in a straight line.

It would not request to restart all the maps creation. Just need to create a kind of hidden random generated teleport which should be one of the easiest solution imho.

Would be really great to have enought island for all. That the big corporations can't handle all of them. It would let smaller corp have an access (maybe durable) to beta island. Would allow some piracy.... etc...

To make a PvE interesting in a game, you have to make things EPIC for players. Here is a recipe to make PvE Epic :

  • Create some nice graphical complex/dungeon. It's far more exciting to enter a big dungeon and to discover it with friends than kill 10 mobs in the current map. Generally players needs a progression feeling during a mission (a little more deep that 4 on 10 mobs killed....)

  • Have nice sounds. Oh, it's already the case, you can check that tick smile

  • Create random content. It's boring to do the same mission. Add a lot of missions to make people never need to farm one.

  • Make PvE more important to the game, for example, missions with special mobs that give you unique kernel, or unique item...

Sorry to compare the game with EvE again, but I think they did an incredible things with complex system, as the game is inspired by EvE, I think some good ideas can be taken here.

For example :

  • Create hidden mission scanning system (this reinforce the feeling to find something unique for players, really appreciated)

  • After a successful scan of an hidden mission, you could discover a special teleport that would bring you on a small PVE island. On that island, you could modelize all the big dungeon you want, they are not integrated with the regular map and so, you have less problems

  • Try to code some things random during the mission (not always the same mobs) add a boss in the end, and add some special content you can only have making these PvE raid (maybe good mining spot, unique kernel or loot etc...

It sounds like complex system in EvE ? Yes, because they had an incredible idea to create it, and this game is clearly inspired by EvE, so this is one of the ideas you could take and improve at the same time. On the "earth" you have the possibility to modelize incredible complex to explore in team, could be really fun. If you make a probing system to find the teleport that bring to these plex and you put them on very small dedicated island, it could be not that hard to implement.

Devs dont need to provide  epeen tools if ppl want some they should code some like in steve

But devs have to provide an api to make it possible for webmasters...

It would be great to find something to move faster. Maybe a module that automatically disable when you are targeted. It would be only for travel because robots are excessively slow in general, or, to be more precise, you have a slow feeling when you travel (even if robots are not that slow).
