When you buy an extension pack and tick'redeem automatically' you get the following message:

Your game codes have been sent to your e-mail address and should arrive shortly. You can redeem your codes and add them to your account any time you like here. You can track your purchases and redeemed codes on your Account status page or use it as a reference if any questions arise.

which is incorrect. The email says:

Your purchase of the following item(s) was successful:

- Upgrade Kit Zero: 1 * 9.99 EUR
- Upgrade Kit One: 1 * 9.99 EUR

The purchased items have been automatically redeemed to your account.

which is correct.

More than that this is only the first tier of terrible. Once demob proof goes out the window people will use the stupid amount of reactor and slot layout of assaults to do something else broken like double aux accumulator shield fits.

That's before you start to talk about what the damage reduction did to racial weaponry.

I think you need to reedit the *** from that

As a corp who's been around since day 1 in a major alliance full of dead corps I feel your pain.

Jita said it best:  deploy terrible patch spend six monthes fixing problems, six monthes behind scheduled development.  GG.

Honestly I can't emphasise this enough. It will take patch after patch and thread after thread to fix what's broken and in the end the result will still be bad.

If you don't want to roll it back I understand but just for theory sake start a thread asking what we think the patch should have looked like. Maybe you will like it better, you don't have the monopoly on good ideas.

I don't think we can help then. Each change in this thread just rolls back each aspect of the patch as a whole.

Lets just look at how Demobs are applied, individually. This means they have to break the TOTAL demob resistance of a robot with a SINGLE applying buff when using two.

If the equation were to factor the TOTAL demob against the TOTAL demob resistance this situation could be resolved.

If it is still a problem then I would suggest reviewing how the resistance and effect are scaling.

Yes, this is a problem as far as I know.

But if you don't like the dedicated resist module then the easiest and fastest way to deal with "demob-immunity" right now (if it is indeed something that shouldn't be in the game) is to increase the strength of demobs. It probably should have happened anyway along with the speed boost.

That's a more reasonable suggestion. Personally I'd add a modifier that increases energy use based on relative mass so that a castel mk2 with frame would cap out quickly demobbing a plated heavy and I would considerably up demob strength.

So as the first action that we seem to agree on, we'll try the separate anti-demob module and remove demob effects from armor and lwf. You'll see this soon on the test server.

You see this is what people mean when they say kneejerk.

The current lwf and armor penalties are fine and work with lwf giving you a boost for a risk and armor giving you a benefit for a penalty. The problem is your patch that added bonus to demob resistance to the arbalast and mechs. Your going to bandaid your terrible patch by breaking a working mechanic that was balanced. That's just nuts.

I actually think the game was very well balanced before the patch. We had five Seth fits including a nifty shield one so I don't think it was cookie cutter at all. Mechs in particular only just evolved to buffer fits.

What was unusued were proto bots, seven tiers of weaponry and guns. The missed opportunity was making these viable.

Its just more blind idiocy changing what doesn't need changing while the house burns around them

Well I have a ticket open reporting macro mining from April still so I'm not expecting the devs to do anything constructive.

I would guess they are nerfing all the fits people are using now (and may have paid money to spec into) as well as the Seth mk2. Basically removing the only fun bits this patch had.

My views are the same, the rules are clear and I think anyone using macro software or isboxer to get money faster than they should on either side should be temp banned and have assets removed.

You do realise in that thread he says its a gray area until you cross the line and then its not. Since its clear your using multiple clients and transporting mouse commands to them all in order to gain in game items at an accelerated rate than you would without isboxer then it's no longer a grey area and clearly against the EULA

let me preface that I don't expect much assistance in regards to the use of innerspace; More or less I felt like typing this out.

Ever since I started playing the game in September, I have been running multiple game clients simultaneously with the help of Innerspace/ISboxer. If you don't know what that is, it is essentially an overlay (much like steam) that provides window management (alt-tabbing), system resource management, and multiboxing tools for the user.

Everything worked fine and dandy until a few days ago when I tried to load the game through innerspace - game crashes or simply fails to load. Its really quite puzzling to me considering I can load the game normally without issue. I'm not sure if its an issue with the game itself, or something with isboxer.

The most disappointing part is that multiboxing is truly how I enjoyed this game. I'm afraid if I can't get this resolved my playtime in Perpetuum will be greatly reduced sad

many tears, much sad. hopefully I get this crap sorted. hmm

/rant

Isboxer is against the rules for exactly the reason you have been using - it accelerates one persons ability to generate resources for themselves which in an infinite resource climate is game breaking.

I would expect at minimum a temp ban and removal of resources to follow this post. If he can break the rules then what is to stop all the other macros and botters?

He's just flapping his mouth because he will do anything, say anything or be anything just to be an idiot.

Detectors can't see what's logged off, nor can anyone competent lose one or even get spotted vs someone without decent skills.

The point is even if you had a good detector all you will see is the enemy detector. Your not risking much.

(25 replies, posted in Balancing)

Your assuming we have devs who give a *** about risk and reward.

You post a lot of problems that you see but no solutions. Let's hear a solution.

The way I see it you have a couple:

Logging out on terrain leaves your bot still there - this is closest to the lore and the harshest

You have some way of detecting something logged out such as a marker on the radar

You have to actively hunt those logged out - something like using an artifact charge to find the spot and an intrusion charge to tell you how long they are logged off for

Consider also what happens when you accidentally disconnect

Find a solution, get the community behind it and you have about a 30% chance it will be implemented in the next two years.

Rather than release a decent patch your going to spend five times as long nerfing the more obvious idiocy of the stupid patch you released. Its just crazy.
