After spending a couple hours looking at robot stats side by side the other night and seeing no reason to run anything but yellow, I agree. It's pretty clear the only pilots not running yellow are only doing so because they don't want to spend $200 on credits to respec. I made a comment when I first came back a couple months ago that whatever the balance changes were at least they affected everyone equally. I was wrong, and it's worse than I imagined at the time.

I also found the dev blog, the patch notes, and the spreadsheet and read through them. The comments from new players who no longer play the game decrying the patch, even pre-release, is pretty telling.

TL;DR - Yellow has 0 downsides and maximal versatility, why use anything else unless you have to? The patch did nothing to help new players, nor to make lights/assaults any more desirable, which were the stated goals. It did hurt everyone - especially dedicated enwar pilots. Also, given the logic of plates, heavies should be the ones with demob immunity not mechs.

It was supposed to buff light/assualts, when in reality it did the exact opposite. The change bought heavies king, that could do nearly everything well due to having more slots available , any class lower suffered due to lack of slots. I remember some newbies get killed on missions that they were quite capable doing them before, due to the change in balance, probably they quit in fustration.

/signed  Time to give it a second thought on reverting the patch which would = more contnet to players as more bots a viable, no just a few.

i agree. watching this game die is just sad but i also have a feeling the devs arent listening to the community (of what its left at least)

Post beta they never really did. Mostly this is because the community don't really have a clue. There are still people in game who think the beat way for a dead game to go is more hardcore.

Sadly the dev ideas have not been successful either, although I'm of the opinion that is more an implementation problem rather than an idea problem. The ideas and code are usually fine, its their balancing and implementation that's horrific.

Is a little bit of everything, although you can't expect the world from such a small Dev team in terms of development time. At least own up and admit to one of the biggest mistakes, robot balancing, which I can still not bring myself to understand what it was all trying to achieve.

The playerbase was unanimous on the decision to revert back, but they never listened.

What others did it favour? There is like 10 dudes left playing.

Our only hope is that they sell this game to a large corp., that has the money to properly advertise and develop this game.  It could have been BIGGER than Eve!

Such a niche game is a hard sell. Anyone willing to invest expect a return, it can be turned around but it is obviously a huge risk, few, if any are willing to take. Investment can only come from those who have a passion and understand this niche game quite well and does not mind the risk.

Edit: One of the issues I have come across during development in general is not staying true to the niche and trying to please those that are not willing to take risks for a greater reward, or don't understand  between griefing and player made content.
For instance, the first sign for trouble came from this insurance fraud that fell hard on a particular entity which as far as they were concerned it was 'part of the gameplay', but Devs decided it was harmful to the game as a whole.

Wrong move as it was a level playing field and it rewarded the smart players, and the move did more harm than good. This examples has happened all along it's development catering to a sort of 'Protect the carebear' mentality instead of rewarding gameplay and community. I think Syndic understands this better than anyone.

Miscomunicate where your God damn servers are? How the hell do you do that? Pretty much reflects on where the game is at atm.

There is no reason to recommend this game anymore.

I thank the Devs for a once entertaining game full of hope for the future. After 6 years this hopefull future never materialised into more players that are needed for these type of games to be any fun.

Any last words?

What a wild assumption to make. He is not posting because there is nothing else to say, unless he wants to insult our inteligence, anyways he is probably pissed since they told him live servers were moved to Hungary, when in actual fact it was not the case. Someone made him look like a fool.

If Zoom has nothing else to say, it's really bad news guys.

"You can burn skill points on one character and apply them to another, meaning eve is pay to win skill points now. You can also now fund pvp ships by getting rid of all the terrible choices in skills you made, like mining or FC skills.
You can now buy skill injectors to inject SP, currently at about 600m as of April Fools Day 2016. The amount of SP injected is dependent on your total SP. 500k for <5M, 400k 5M to 50M. 300k 50M to 80M, 150k 80M+"

Directly from mittani.com

Before this change you could buy characters, same as buying SP , they have just made it easier. It was already pay to win, although to win in Eve you need so much more than real cash. It will get you on a level playing field faster but that does guarantee winning.

Our they do something drastic like FTP or pull the plug, sitting on their hands won't change a thing.

During the good old days some features requested in this section has been accomplished, now they don't even have the time to bug fix so, you are really wasting your time here unfortunately, anyways we've heard all ideas before ad nausium.

Makes a difference if you can shoot them directly , in a way I liked it, not sure why, maybe try I out on beta 2s, and gammas or add new islands for them. Point is they were nerfed so much there have little use I want more like a walls 1.5.

*hint:* someone, who said he knows how all the mechanics work, told me once (two month ago) that you cannot kill walls by shooting them. his "highest DPS machinegun seth was not even scratching them, and he filed several bug reports without response.

What, so you can't shoot down walls due to a bug?

Game is at breaking point, less servers to reduce cost, less interest the last few months from Devs to fix and patch the game. Sale prices not bringing enough players to make game a proper MMO. It's the beggining of the end. Last straw would be free2play, but with a time based system not sure how that would work as having more accounts is always 'better'.

Limit skills at 5 for ftp accounts and reduce ep gain by 75% for everyone who doesn't have a booster.

They could do that. The only gripe is you are forced to play with an extraordinary number of accounts to be competitive (no matter how much it's nerfed) only limited by PC power or the number of computers you have a available.

Eventually it becomes like an RTS multiplayer game. Not sure is that's good or bad.

Bug reported is simple, mining tower is broken, fix it. The rest is another issue entirely I would remove gamma and set it up properly when it's ready , when there are more incentives to live there.

68

(54 replies, posted in Bugs)

It's content removal and it should be fixed asap , this is not acceptable. If the devs have no time they should remove gamma entirely concentrate on beta.

Is that the Putty icon at the bottom left big_smile.

Are u sure it didn't crash because you have like 100 services open, seriously bluetooth do you need that open?

Edit:It's clear this time it's the connection to the servers, I just can't stand playing games with so much *** running in the background  tongue

Certainly for $10k a month not worth it at all. Save up , and develop the game further.

That was a surprise. What gave in? I suppose the services your are paying for is kinda crap.

new models require an art guy which they dont have. I spoke to the art guy who used to work on this game through Anni and offered to pay him $1k of my own money to put new models in the game. All the Devs had to do was agree to let him do it and add the balancing stuff in the tables which is about 5% of the work. It would cost them nothing.

They didn't even refuse, they just ignored me and ignored him and it went nowhere. I can't fathom for one second why they would do this, the very idea of turning down paid content someone else is paying for is one of the few things in the game that genuinely make me furious. Its just truning down easy content - and more importantly the kind of relationship that would allow for future additions

The real headache is the balancing.

Big fat YES to number 8!
