Just to let you know, there may be something wrong with the Medium Miner Accu usage on a Termis, Put 4 on it with 4 Acc rechargers says its cap stable, but in games its not...

When looking at the spreadsheet, do you have the Medium Miner Modules turned on?  If not, the bot will be stable till you turn them on.  If yes, do you have all the relevant extensions applied in the spreadsheet?  If not, your extensions could drastically change the cycle time of the miner modules in-game and if not represented correctly in the spreadsheet, the spreadsheet could show different results than in-game.  Also note that Planned and Imported extensions are ADDED together for calculations.  I.E. 6 planned and 4 imported will give a value of 10.  You may have intended 6 total; which would be 2 planned and 4 imported.

oki, i'll try to describe what's happen (sorry for my basic english)

Your tool on my desktop, i launch as usual (administrator right)
Excel open, and ask me if i want to activate the macro, in the case of yes or no,
once this window disappear and try to launch the tool,
i've got a pop up message, saying this tool cannot be open, due to a protection not coded for your own country

Sorry about delay on reply, and thanks for your help

I've looked into this and I can't find ANY information on this error.  I would recommend typing the exact error you're getting into your search bar to find more information on it, and then if you find something that you believe is relevant, post the link here for me to look at.  Since translation some times gets messed up, this is the route I would go.  As my translation of your error may be different and would give me no results when I search for it.  Sorry I couldn't be more help.  I just started using EXCEL about a month or so before I released the first version of this fit tool.  Also, I would speak to others in the french community that may be able to assist you, as I can only speak english.

Hmmm.... I'll have to look into this.  Not sure why it isn't working, as the spreadsheet isn't encrypted, it's just protected.  Which just makes the cells I've specificed unusable.  Is it giving an error?  Is excel opening?  Can you see anything on the spreadsheet?  Please post as much information as possible so I can help resolve this issue.

Mined % is not computed, as the primary function of this tool is to help with fittings (cap stability, CPU and reactor) and extensions; 2ndary is damage and healing; terciary is radar visibility.

Use this spreadsheet to figure out which extensions to get to fit that gear you just got/want to get, or would like to know what gear you can use based on current extensions.  This works in conjunction with the Perpetuum Planner.  Simply use the import button to import your planner extension data.  Only applied data[green] is imported, planned data[yellow] is not.

Perpetuum Fit Tool v2.01 (Spreadsheet)

If you have any recommendations or requests for future versions, please post them in this thread.  (An exe version or google docs post will not be made due to the complexity of this spreadsheet.  Please note that this spreadsheet is protected and any modification is only possible with the authorization of myself.)

All-in-all, the only way to trully deal with this insurance fubar is to remove it completely, but that won't happen, because of all the people that wouldn't be able to replace their vehicle when they lost it.  My idea is merely a concept, that has a few holes that could easily be fixed.  Also, the ease at which people can find holes in this concept shows how easily people will find holes in ANY form of insurance.  People will use them once they find them.  Sadly, it's unavoidable.

There are two big holes in that plan:

If you give a 90% discount on the buy price then Corps are going to manufacture bots, stick them on Beta at prices 100X the ave and have their corpmates buy them. Making billions of NIC for the sellers, which they will then use to make more bots.

If you peg the price to 90% of the cheapest bot on the market some chop will sell his bot for nothing at some unreachable Beta island and screw everybody out of insurance.

First of all, the % is merely an example, as I stated at the end of the post.

Secondly, your first point shows that there is a failure in the market in general, having location specific markets allows individuals or corps to alter market values based on location instead of the actual value of the item.  Thus, a global market is needed, or the 'marker' could be used on a global scale instead of a local scale and the 'Nian Syndicate' could transport said bot to you.

Thirdly, your second point is, imo, moot.  As selling a bot for nothing would affect no one except the fool who just gave his bot away for nothing, or near to nothing.

This is my idea on how to replace the insurance system without giving people NIC or a replacement bot, which could potentially crash the market in either case.

As giving a replacement bot seems to be the most thought of idea, it has merit, but giving you a free bot would inevitably crash the market as bots would no longer need to be built or sold, for the most part.

Instead of providing a replacement bot, I recommend an untradable 'Marker'.  For instance, if you lose a Kain, you get a 'Kain Marker', if you lose a Termis, you get a 'Termis Marker', etc.

The 'Marker' would then give a price reduction % on your next PURCHASE of that bot.
Take the following as an example:
Cheapest Kain currently on market = 3mil
'Kain Marker' = 90% discount
Buyer pays 'Kain Marker' + remaining 10% + taxes for the market Kain
Nian Syndicate (insurance company) pays the 90% to the seller

In turn, the seller still gets what they asked for on the market, and the buyer gets their replacement Kain at a discount.  There's nothing tangible given to the pilot that could be exploited, and the market is still able to flourish.

This could be used in many ways, such as a way to puchase the mats to produce another bot at the same discount as the 'Marker'.  Like a lump purchase of the mats.  You, the buyer, go the market, and 'insert' the marker, you are then given 2 options, the bot or the mats.  If you select the bot, the above example happens.  If you select mats, you get all the mats needed to make the bot, provided there are enough mats currently on the market to fill the order.

Keep in mind that the markers % could easily be changed to suit the devs idea of fair replacement value.

Sticky?  I've had over 300 downloads of this spreadsheet big_smile

Anyone could have think to blow up a bot for a little extra NIC in time of need. Not everyone would make an industry out of this. Scale does matter. No big list of rules and regulations about every little aspect of the game mechanics is necessary. Plain common sense should suffice.
If you want to be treated as adults, you need to behave as such. Stop whining, stop mumbling silly excuses and accept the consequences of your actions like men.

This proves my point.

Myrion wrote:

This conversation is not constructive, it's a waste of time and it's boring. Get on with your lives and let the devs carry on making this game better and free of exploits.

Then why are you feeding it?

In summary:
* Those players that utilized this mechanic aren't upset because they lost some NIC, they're upset about the way the situation was handled, specifically the name calling, bashing, and inability of others, either by wanton disregard or by simple incompetence, to understand that point.
* The DEV's are upset, from what I can surmise, because those players appeared to intentionally over use this mechanic for personal and corporate gain, and the inability of the players to understand that point.

So I recommend everyone either learn a little empathy (Empathy is the capacity to recognize and, to some extent, share feelings that are being experienced by another semi-sentient being.-wikipedia) and move on, or this arguement/discussion will continue endlessly till either the ban-hammer or the /quit extension is used.

*Note* I haven't heard anything about us leaving the game as of yet.  In fact, all I've heard so far is that we still intend to keep on playing the best way we know how, and that's evident in our PVP.

IMO, both sides of this issue are right AND wrong.

Devs:
Wrongs:
"Naming & Shaming"
"Passing judgment prior to warning that this act was indeed an exploit"
"Neglected a broken element for far too long, to the point that it became a serious problem"
Rights:
"Finally took the time to fix this broken element"
"Accepted responsibility for some of their mistakes"

Players:
Wrongs:
"Overly used this broken system, which they clearly felt was wrong since they continuously felt the need to question GM's and DEV's about the legitimacy of this behaviour"
Rights:
"Overly used this broken system to force AC to pay attention to the problem; so that it could be fixed before the game becomes too old to be fixable and maintain it's player base"

Both sides argued over moot points, this happens when people become defensive.  It's a natural reaction when someone feels attacked.  Once someone is in defensive mode they are far less likely to come out of it for a while.  They will continue to defend their actions regardless of being right or wrong.

So to everyone involved I say to you, for the love of gaming and humanity, "Please, take a step back from this 'event' and take a breather.  We're all here because we enjoy this game.  None of us want to leave, but we all want a little respect.  Respect that WILL NOT be given while throwing around rediculous propaganda and finger pointing.  I recommend we all apologize, shake hands, agree that this was handled poorly (on all sides), and move on, because if we can't, or won't, this will get much worse and a lot more aspirin will be needed.

PEACE!

Yep, that works.  Base stat/(1+total extension modifier)

I'm sorry, maybe the math teachers across the globe teach math differently, but 25% of 12.5 = 3.125 not 1.25.  Reduction indicates (-) minus.  12.5 (-) minus 25% (3.125) = 9.375 not 10
I get the exact same results from the other extensions as well.  So clearly the "formula" isn't A-%=X as indicated by the wording of the extension.  Can you elaborate on the proper formula for me?

Several extensions seem to be broken.  Namely the ones that give 5% bonuses, thou I'm not entirely sure how many of them are broken, but it seems to me that the following are:
* Accelerated reloading
* Accelerated target locking
* Rapid Firing
5 points in each would reasonably give a 25% reduction bonus, but they do not
I have 5 in each and only get a 20% reduction bonus, but 4% is not what they give, nor do they ignore the 1st point spent, as I initially expected, but upon further inspection and information from other players, their bonus % is different at different extension levels.  Also, they aren't giving % per previous %.  IE, it's not taking Target Locking-5%-5%-5%-5% etc. per level.

I would like to extend that spreadsheet abit with that.

I haven't had any luck getting an answer to that question myself, if you do get one, let me know.

Excellent corp, very good leadership, fun group of guys and a worthy alliance to boot!

Input your fitted data into the spreadsheet to find out if you are cap stable.  This will be very useful for all of you trying to get a miner bot/mech stable.

Download the spreadsheet here.
v1.03
Updates:
Corrected Chassis Module 7 name.
Reformulated to give 0 values instead of error messages.
Added time to fail algorithm if stablity = NO.

With this spreadsheet, you can simply input your module(s) and bot/mech specific information to figure out how that module you're eyeing on the market will affect your top speed.

Download spreadsheet here.
