I want some of what you are smoking ...
Seriously do you believe what you just wrote ?
let's look at it the other way around: can a single light kill a heavy (assume good skills and setups) ? NO. the heavy will just mop the floor with the light.
Good morning

Actually many ways for balancing.
If I understand what you're saying, and I apologise if I'm wrong, you're arguing for Light Bot mods to be LESS effective against a Heavy Mech? Thats not balancing. Solo Heavy Mech being taken down by multiple Light Bots, Balanced. Solo Heavy killing all Lights easily, Not Balanced. Heavy Mech pilot bringing a friend or two and owning the 7-8 man light squad, Again Balanced.
No... Not less effective. I mean accumulator consumption.
look in update news for 2011-06-17:
* '''Change:''' Signal masker modules are now using energy over time, which means that the basic activation AP cost is really low, but the effect itself drains AP every 2 seconds. The basic AP usage is multiplied by the hit surface size of your robot. AP drain lasts while the effect is active, and the effect will drop if there is not enough AP to drain.
i think that need same effect for some other modules.

Re: This game became full of cheap stuff (304 replies, posted in Balancing)
As I said before, you don't balance by cost, eg. if it costs 10x more it should be 10x better. "Upgrades" should always follow the principle of diminishing returns, ie, you pay larger and larger amounts (NIC, Mats, Whatever) for the same or smaller bonus as you move up the ladder. There is of course the obvious issue there that a SOLO Heavy SHOULD be vulnerable to a number of small bots, that is a legitimate counter to the Heavy Mech, if Heavies were effectively invulnerable to anything smaller, then why bother having other bots? Getting a Heavy is not winning Perpetuum, its just another bot with its own set of strengths and weaknesses, one of which is being vulnerable if caught solo by a bunch of bots to small for it to hit effectively.
It is possible. As variant, consumption of accumulator can depend on the size of the enemy. For example, if demobilizers can consume battery like maskers, then small robot will not stop the heavy robot. The same with neutraliziers and ECM.

Dear all!
I want to tell that update was not good for me. I don't like it. Let's be fair. Now actually killed tanks and have strengthened a damage. But it is pleasant for some other players.
Recently I have come to a conclusion that the balance will be always (exactly in the game). People are able to adapt. They will simply use other robots and the equipment. The balance will be even if create any super class (the tank or DPS). All will simply use this class and to aspire to it (now all choose DPS).
Disbalance in other (in realisation of updates): People have wasted time, have spent experience points and resources. Some have resetted the accounts to make all correctly for old balance. And now the balance has been changed globally and without preventions.
About it there was a prevention for a month, that people could prepare? No...
For this change the reasons have been named?
Examination has been made?
That is have actually taken away a candy from one child and would give to another instead of to give a candy to both. Players were not ready and there was no compensation, as result - that reaction.
Let me remind to developers that we play in an official release. The release should be stable. We pay money for game (even small), so please make a game and change is more appropriate.
In normal projects, such rebalancing is not done more often than once in half-year with following notice.

Re: Why the removal of high damage/short range turret ammo? (22 replies, posted in Balancing)
I don't see any problems here.
Melee ammo will be actual, if robots will blast not instantly (and/or with chance).
АОЕ - is important part of game, but it still need tuning.
Ammo change was quite adequate.

yeah-yeah. Lets ban me. Show to all who operates the server.
Don't forget return my money and spent time.
If will be only nerf in the game and not will add anything new then it isn't important to me.

Hunter O.o, you said seroius about Gropho kill? What do you think any gropho can fight or should fight against 15 light gang.?
Other, this gropho maybe was light fitted, so had no chance against the team. If he was tank fitted should be fight a LITTLE bit more not too much but maybe could 1-2 kill acceptable, and i think that is good, and yes before nerf he couldnt survive but had more chance kill 4-5 from ours.
Hunter you want a little bit understand what we say or no? If no I wont try argue with you.
I try to understand you, but i think now you are wrong.
You so consider because it conveniently for you and your t1 newbie gang sqaud.

Solution:
1. Remove ERP from the game
2. Close this thread
3. Ban Hunter on forums (optional)
Agree. Lets push the button.

You got proof that I personally talked to a DEV/GM? Cause it not your slandering my credibility and this, I don't understand. If you don't have proof that I did this don't make such comments. I think that this thread has reached its end you offer no proof to what you say except that a outnumbered heavy mech was killed when he was caught solo.
You have already confirmed this fact. What for to prove the confirmed facts?

Did you Pm all 10 of them to make sure they were running T1? Either way it sould have died it was solo.
so·lo [ sṓlō ]
act done by single person: an action or feat carried out by one person alone, e.g. a flight in an aircraft or a climb up a mountain
or in our case a Heavy vs 10 assaults and E-wars
I have noticed interesting feature at Hokko guys. They would repeat the same argument what to prove the position. Even if give to them different counterarguments, they will repeat same arguments.
OK. Once again repeat special for you. Gropho died because nerf. You killed him only because nerf. There is no your achive. You just pushed to devs, they change balance and thats all. You want to come to novastrov, kill Singles and run away.

You specialized on vitality: you are blind and without DPS. You specialized on DPS: you are blind and paperbot. You specialized on eyes: you are paperbot and without dps. All was perfect.
Exactly Alex and what is a Heavy with out support? A big target. And a Big SOLO target is a big SOLO target. Heavys should be hard but not impossible to DPS down. If the heavy is with out support its a liability to its corp and owner cause if its caught by a gang it should die. Not perma tank just cause we forgot to bring the Ictus.
Exactly what? Heavy tanked with shields gropho in t4 died from 10 t1 assault noobs without neutralizers?.. *click to button "Push to devs* -> done -> profit!

And the counter to speed fit Kains? Tank fit Mechs and E-war tackles. Get off your one trick pony and ride another fit.

Re: This game became full of cheap stuff (304 replies, posted in Balancing)
Ok hunter whats the balance if you sit under outpost with ERP tank and when we come with "correct" tool to kill tank you hop out a second ERP tank and a few friends.... you arguement is paper thin. Just like my frame/evasive fit E-war. Paper thin. You mad cause we run away when you bring the Heavys out, or cause Hydra lost one solo... oh wait he admitted it was a good fight. Sorry man it seems like you want a I win button where one shouldn't be. Heavy ERPs are not the be all end all of this game, and If your soloing 6-11 dudes with ERP just cause they didn't bring the "right" tool thats IMBA 6-11 people vs 1 should be a no-brainer. I'd even bet my paycheck on the 6-11 any day of the week.
In Fact lets start a thread on Evasive mods on E-wars not helping vs a Heavy. Except testing is gonna get expensive for the E-war pilot.
Anyway nova killed you. Kill. Also will kill. With/Wthiout us. You don't want to develop. You don't want to do expensive robots and the equipment. You use the button "to Press on developers what to win". You like dinosaurs...

I will repeat once again because at once can't understand: there was no disbalance. There were no super robots. You have simply pressed on developers that they have removed their idea because you can't understood. You have made so that they would refuse the whole aspect which have thought up and tried to introduce for content addition.
To you interesting only this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAmsmGBfSTg
But in game there are people who want the new ideas, the new aspects, the new purposes... new content.

And MaraKaid asking to nerf heavies again, because its not easy to kill 30kk gropho with 6*500000 nic gang.Efforts should be rewarded. Else - game is not worth an efforts.
62nd/M2S efforts were rewarded with a solo Heavy kill that got heavly ECM'd There was only about a 5-7 second gap he wasn't ECM'd.
I know most of us are running tiered something now in 62nd cause we farm the Nova drops regularly. Seriously a Heavy isn't ment to take on a 6-11 man squad solo and live that just dumb. Reguardless of Fit 6 v 1 is being outnumberd and out gunned.
Look here at this video. After 0:40 You will see fight with Lemon. It was ERP tank. In our group were only т1 assault robots. After that incident I wanted to address to developers that would strengthen tanking because it is too easy to kill.

Re: This game became full of cheap stuff (304 replies, posted in Balancing)
Heavy mechs are for intrusion fights i.e. large scale standing battles defending or attacking stationary control points.
They're not for roaming. They're not for hunting down squads of faster, smaller bots.
It has always been the case, since release, that any lone mech or heavy mech caught out in the open by a small roaming gang is dead meat.
Your problem is not that the devs have nerfed your fit, but that no-one on the server is currently doing intrusions, which is what your mech is designed for.
Got it. Your corp has decided how should be work and the developers done. Right?
What does it cost to change the balance on the server?
The license agreement has a point about changing the game balance at the request of the corporation m2s?

This. Armor rep/rep tank is no longer a FOTM. It is still a viable build against 2-3 assaults
Remember that large capital ships are coming; those will be the epic bots, not heavy mechs
