Those who were missing the EP gained during the time between their redeem time and launch should be ok now.

What about the people like me who want an extra 20k EP? Mom always said it doesn't hurt to ask...so can I get some extra plz? Kthx

I would hope that the Kill Count factors in deaths as well, otherwise you could have 2-3 "friendemies" take turns killing each other to pad the total.

Although, to Neoxx's point, removing Arkhe's from count all but eliminates that.

Good questions. I'm gonna throw out a "help desk" type answer though, for people who are still trying to raise faction rep. (I'll assume you know this already.) big_smile

Doing a variety of missions is not the best way to raise your rep. The factions affected by each mission vary so widely that you're really limited to a handful of missions, if your goal is to raise rep with any corp.

The blunt way of saying that is to choose which faction you want to raise, and run ONLY those missions that give positive rep with them. That's the fastest way to raise rep, and once I figured that out, it took me about 10 missions to get to level 2 missions. I have some Diplomacy, but I don't think it would take more than 20 missions, if you are selective about which missions you run.

TL;DR: To raise rep, select your missions very carefully and run the same one(s) about 10-20 times.

Well, everyone agrees that it's easy to lock down all targets in an area, especially with Castels. Perhaps the original idea isn't the solution, but at least the suggestion was made.

For everyone that said to "do something else" as a solution, here's what you do. Next time you spend 10 minutes travelling to your mission location, or that one mining spot...turn around and go back to the nearest terminal. Then head out to a different location, but once there, I'm afraid you'll have to back to the terminal again. Maybe if you head out to a NEW location...nope, once you get there, turn around again and head back to start over. Repeat this a few more times, then come back to tell me if this is a viable solution. tongue

TL;DR: "Do something else" is not a long term solution to a problem everyone recognizes.

Play at least 2 other MMOs and you'll see how incredibly easy and low risk these transport missions are right now. This is an MMO, not Farmville.

Making money too easy will affect the market, which will require more money. Lowering the NIC you receive from easy, no risk, VERY quick missions is a good thing. The only downside to these missions is boredom, and that is a horrible motivational tool.

Transportation missions should be useful to generate money as a last resort, so you can get back into the game when everything is destroyed. It should not be a primary way to earn NIC.

Removing the bot from the tutorial missions is horrible idea.

Allowing players to choose between a combat bot, an industrial bot, or money is a better idea.

Some good suggestions here, except for your first one.

Artificially adding time to Deployment is a really bad idea. Unless you are the most forgetful person in the world, you Deploy correctly most of the time. Besides, this is a function that's already in the game. When you are about to Deploy...take 3 seconds to think, "Do I have everything I need to Deploy?"

A better solution would be to have a 5-10 second window of time, once Deployed, to dock again at the same station despite instability.

Unless you stick to the same 3-4 missions, or specifically try to raise/lower rep with one of the dozens of factions, you'll probably end up negative with only a few factions.

I ran about 20-30 different missions from different Alpha terminals to see a variety, and ended up with most factions being positive, but low rep. Only about 4 factions were negative, but none were very bad.

Someone could probably do some tracking and calculations to figure out the exact bonuses/penalties for each mission. I would bet it's possible to stay positive with all factions, if you wanted to spend the time monitoring it closely enough.

Okay, looking for volunteers to create the mission spreadsheet...

Very good tips.

How does one even know what robots/mechs are available later on? I don't see a list of anything that I don't already own.

[Fixed] Now you can see them all on the main website:

IMO, there should be a short (7-day?) "first character" mulligan, just because you learn so much at the start of the game. When the time period is up, you get a choice to restart (or just reset extensions). If you decline, nothing changes.

Even if this counts only for the first character you ever make, it'd be highly valuable.
