Credits don't need an in-game form of trading.

Players looking for NIC shouldn't be able to buy credits for cash and resell for NIC. Instead, they should be earning NIC with the means available to them at that point of their careers.

Why not? it allows players who don't want to grind NIC all day a method of entry, and it allows people who want to use credits without spending cash a way to get them.

Best part is that everyone benefits, including the developers who could well see an increase in credit purchases.

I would be ok with this.

things like cargo expanders are a great idea. It would add more diversity to fits; should you fit more tank, or go for more cargo? there shouldn't be a 1 size fits all for fits, or else the concept of modules and fits is pointless.

why would you trade with enemy entities if you could avoid it

honestly I feel it really comes down to the new player experience. There are a good number of items in the game that simply seem to not exist on the open market.

I feel the games economy would be a lot more robust and interesting if the game wasn't slanted towards inside trading. Thoughts?

Well, I've been out mining a bit, thought I'd do a bit of a write up for how I'm faring.

Bumped my group up to 8 pilots, may do more as hardware allows (this game takes a lot of system resources, maybe needs optimization?)

Group consists of 6 Miners, 1 booster, and 1 hauler

Miners... well, they mine of course. Cap stable Termis with 4 medium miners, #TitanOreRekt

Booster is a sequer that sits here and runs nexus modules, will probably fit a miner on it when I have room in the fit, its currently very tight with the 3 nexus modules. Fast Extractor, Industrial, and Recharger NEXUS modules are running. Strange thing is though my booster isn't cap stable, the buffs still show up on everyone else. Not sure how that works but ok.

The hauler is just my combat guy in a sequer. not really a permanent setup, just doing it until i get the EP and NIC for the larger capacity bots.

I'll have to wait to min/max until im in Rivelers and have scarabs to haul out stuff so I have an idea of the kind of management they need. I imagine I won't really need to haul until I clear the full site. I suppose the benefit of constantly hauling is that I wont have to send everyone back to the terminal to switch bots. With a dedicated hauler they can just go right to the next ore site and get to work. The real question is if that hauler would make more NIC if he was in a mining bot, though its really hard to calculate because of the variable of travel times being constantly different.

Off topic: Space Engineers is pretty awesome.

or conversely, you could increase the amount that the boosters give, making them all the more lucrative. The main problem  I see with widening the EP gap between those who subscribe and those who don't is that some might consider it pay to win.

well currently my termis' are cap stable with 4 medium miners when I have my boosting sequor around. Thing is when I am mining ores with higher volume/weight my other sequor is constantly running between the terminal and the group to keep up with the output. By the time he gets back to the group, they've mined enough to entirely fill up his cargo.

Kinda curious how other players run a 'mining op' if that is the correct term for it. I'm currently using a hauler, a booster, and the rest are all miners. is this the most efficient method of raw material collection? I haven't seen anyone else mining in a group yet. I figure if/when i move my operations to beta/gamma, i'll need an overwatch. It also seems some of the higher end ores are a lot heavier than say titan ore, but don't seem to be priced much higher per unit, and liquids barely cover the cost of the charges.

Losing is part of the game, if you can't handle it, then "harden the *** up" or play a theme park mmo. I've already lost some bots stupidly, but I have thick skin and can handle it.

Should the game publisher try to limit you to using a single account to play the game? If so, how do you propose they enforce that, and who would the rule supposedly benefit? Block by IP? Now you give the advantage to the guy who can afford to pay for multiple IPs. Only allow one instance per PC? Now the guy who can afford multiple PCs or multiple Virtual Machines has the advantage. Instead of providing any measurable benefit to the casual player — who usually only has one or a couple of accounts — now the casual player is at an explicit disadvantage.

Not only that, but these restrictions would be against many of the people who are most dedicated to the game, who are in your corporation, who are also completely unwilling to lose their accounts.

Title is the TL;DR

WoW and EVE veteran, just decided to try the game, and all of a sudden I have three accounts, and plan to multibox more - at least 10 or so. Enjoying the industry part of the game so far. I have a combat EP dedicated toon, and all the alts will be miners/industrialists. I am new, but not averse to pvp and plan to dive into it soon enough.

Sell me your corp.
