So I just caught up with 100+ posts on this topic after a day off on the forums. So much to quote and respond too, but I just don't have the energy.....

Edit: And its still a bad change, the inability to teleport while flagged. We are back to safelogging being the best means of evading pursuit. That, or not engaging at all. Why someone having the ability to leave via teleport is any worse than someone having the ability to get there via teleport is beyond me.

+1  Asymmetrical warfare is dead.  Long live the spreadsheet battle.

Yes, I agree, come outside and destroy it.

but seriously, these mechanics force players to make choices.  "Should I have this much stuff out here?"

"Should we fight tooth and nail to keep this?"

These are all GAME decisions, you just want to click one button to answer everything.

It reminds me of another subject  --

There are a dozen or more great opportunities for content just lost with mechanics the way they are.  Fights that never happen.  Attempted breakouts that never happen.  Other political solutions and ransoms.

so many things lost to lazy easy mechanics

A bot under fire, a spark pilot trying to keep alive and dodge fire...  There's no time to destroy things in the cargo. that makes perfect sense.

A base under siege for days or weeks?  The inhabitants could clearly take time to destroy valuables.    Every castle siege in history had that occur.

I don't disagree with any of that -  However - the losing player/corp still suffers the loss regardless of whether they lose it in the drop, or destroy it themselves.

WTB downgrade tokens -  Willing to ship HDD anywhere...

Other fun things.

Click on Spark Teleport tab - wait for sparks to load.
Click on Corp storage, wait for folders to load.
Log in - wait for everything to load.

The "inside the terminal lag thing is about to make me revolt.  (Which is bad, because no amount of Ville trolling has ever done that)

Fitting bots takes forever. (move the item, wait for the game to catch up, rinse, repeat)
Production is very hard.  (Drag the CT to the calibration lab, wait and hope it goes, rinse, repeat)
Chat inside terminal takes a long time  (type it in, hit enter, then wait 30 seconds for it to appear)

This is not something old or "usual" , this is not the result of more items in terminal, it's not my PC or network.

All of this is new, at least in the last 30 days, and far worse this week than ever before.

What's the benefit of having Gamma Outposts at 3?     so little PVP happens on Gamma, and you aren't impacting power projection at all.

My suggestion would be to keep Gamma at 1.

Theres no point screwing up whole Perpetuum's structure just to have small chance of extra PVP and ganks(which is still open for debate). You fail to realise that spark teleports are more used for non-PVP activities than they are for PVP.

Now, after the beacon nerf, I don't even forsee heavy mission running anymore. Beta islands are slowly but surely crumbling to dust in the usefulness scale.

The beacons got fixed because u could do this http://vimeo.com/71536533 . And thats not the good burns, we had better with even more beacons finishing to the end.

Pretty awesome video btw -  and I like your beacon pit design.  Good job!

Tried to log in with this toon after a week's vacation.   Received a "Server Error" bug.

Logged in with my other toons fine.   tried to use their clients for this toon, same error.

Realized that I lapsed subscription - subb'ed back up -  everything worked fine.   You might want to check that error message.  Kind of confusing.

To be fair, I don't know whether I'm trolling or not either....I think its more just intended to be commentary.   And your point on an observed specific action/log that triggered your action is fair.  In my mod days I had the opportunity to just "watch" a player in game to see if what they are doing is suspect.  It certainly helped when the creative player who figured out the latest equipment combination was accused of modding.

Wish I could log in this weekend and get the whole story!  Such drama! But wait, you banned people on the basis of another player's accusation without proof?   That seems like a slippery slope that can be exploited on its own.  Hopefully you learned a lesson on reacting to hysterical accusations.

I hear the arguments about repair nodes - but then I think    "What good is a repair node, except when the base is under fire?"   Making that change is a terminal nerf.

Making this change, makes them utterly useless.  Unless you do something like give them a really wide zone of control or allow for really long ranges between them and the repair targets.

Interesting idea. -  although I like it less with all of this "Siege bots" talk thrown about.

Making my expensive investments easier to kill (easier to kill with less investment)  does not make me more inclined to want to make more investments.

If you like braving the PVP wilds of Beta or Gamma  (And like having a Gamma Fortress to hang out in)  Then look us up!

Alternatively - if you like Hanging out on Alpha - Mining, or PVE -  We have spots for you too!

As an added bonus - New guys to the game get a chance to join one of the more established active corps that have an extensive arsenal to help get new guys on their feet and doing what they like to do in the game!

I'm mildly interested in Doek's experiment.  Because I suspect that seeding the market with T1 items won't be of any use, because we'll quickly find that no one is buying outside of hershfield.
