EvE's online decreases everyday. Because of wrong way model they have no new players inflow. Many (old) players goes out too.

So we gonna await a winter miracle or will be done something real? Perp is a robot that freezed at North Pole. There are nobody around and only nuclear explosion will warm it up.

The course the Devs are on right now is good. Field terminals will give new players something to enjoy without requiring a huge time commitment. Field terminals on Beta and their associated taxation by outposts will provide an incentive for newbies to go there (mo' money mo' problems). Restructuring Beta connections and NPC static spawn removal will help make living on Alpha without commitment less viable for competing in the end-game.

Everything is going in a good direction right now. First the root of the problem must be fixed before a higher retention rate can be achieved. A lot of selfish and bad ideas were listened to, and now the mess needs to be fixed. The overall experience must be improved, one tweak at a time.

The only real course is bring in the improvements discussed before Winter sale, and go on sale with a big discount. Retention from the winter sale will still be bad, but it should be better with the changes then before. Then there's another cycle of development until summer sale - more good improvements need to be worked on to ensure a higher percentage of retention rate. Newsletters for every patch cycle. Blah blah, it's Marketing 101 we shouldn't even be discussing it.

A lot of players will try it for 2 hours then refund if they don't like it. The players that will stay will research the game and making kneejerk decisions like what Jita proposes would be suicidal for the game because those players would be turned away.

Another one chance?.. Huh.. How many had perp already? I think there are need about half year a such promo (maybe more).

Making the game interesting for a broader population would require the Devs to combat the time investment required to play the game. Right now, unless you can sit down and play Perpetuum for 4-5 hours a day you're better off not playing. For the vast majority of gamers that's too much of a time commitment. Mining for example, would have to be completely reworked because it takes forever, it's boring as hell and "might as well be playing something fun" mentality sinks everyone's boat sooner or later.

This part is quite true, most of the issues with the game is the changing attitudes towards gaming, from 5-10 years ago. Where as now spending hours upon hours everyday just to be barely competitive is no longer acceptable to your average consumer, pounded by the fact there are many more options available.

We can see this happen in Eve too were the daily average is hitting 20k, around 2008 levels.

However moving the goal posts around and rebalancing won't make the game any more appealing for outsiders, aside from the ones already playing. Making big changes , like UI overhaul which was cancelled/postponed and the likes of new bots, if there are not capable of producing this in a short time frame, there is no point but hope for a miracle.

i agree with the point that game takes too much time. And it's too old. Even small roam takes about hour. Lot of mature people have no time for this. The era of nolifers goes to end. And even nolifers wont spent their life, watching on boring mining process.
But anyway this only about rebalance. The mining system exists and it's too late to rework. I doubt that you go play quickly in the game if the DeVs change something in current mining system. - No you won't. Nobody forced you, and you have billions units of resources in your storages.
Small improvements will give small impulses. Too small.

We need the new players (newfresh blood). The new players should have equal conditions for play. As example it may be a good EP boost mechanic. Don't want it - wipe server (but it won't help by it self). At least offer something that give real interest instead of small crutches that gives nothing.

yes, Celebro goes right.

Of course our guys are having fun in other games. We're a multigaming community, and it's much more convenient to make the botters work for us through the market instead of doing the boring stuff ourselves.

Ok, i read a lot of your stuff on the forum, but there are ideas only about the rebalance current stuff. How it should help the project? Feature requests talking about the same things that (maybe) would  increase your personal interests for play, but there are totally no ideas how to make the game interesting for everyone.

I have nothing to panic about because I have +100 pilots on Jabber with maxed combat accounts.

So where is the pilots? In other games maybe?

I know what holds the developers from f2p model.

No, this is not a problems with balance and mystic pay2win danger. Let's be honest. The people who want take advantage - they will sell ICEs and run in the mk2/t4 ever.

The only problem with BOTs. Nothing else. Only few hamsters wonders about apparent disbalance.

+1 to wipe and F2P. This is the way.

Compensation for the old players can be black robots each class&race with no requirements.

Make it f2p

different size for steam and stanalone clients?..

The talk not only about forms of credit transfer.

There are a lot of games with cash shop that plays quite good. Look around: Is this normal game with <50 online?

i would even sell protection tokens for outposts. Why not?.. Limit use, increase count of islands and outposts. Many ways to balance and earn money.

What model do you suggest?

The Cash shop would work fine.......

If it had content to fill it hmm

Why not a cash shop? What is the goal of the developers? - money or a "perfect balance"? I would choose money instead of utopia.

How about full HP regen after it's evade?

Celebro wrote:

-1 no trials: 90% of them only join because is free then tell their friends it a crap game because, slow, complicated too much reading whatever, and anyways game is not ready yet.

The people without money have the friends without money. It will be good to aware them all to don't even try the game.
But ppl with money usually want take a first look before buy.

I think it would be fine to stay on virtual island while trial period goes.

Main idea is make more ways to come in the game for people.

Please make 6-hours trial period and availability to pay account with ICE.

6 hours will be enough to decide if player want to play the game, but won't be enough to make gate-spies.

Also would be nice to make ICE more functional. What difference who will pay player's account?

...make it faster pls
