I have mixed feelings.  I, for one, am glad that people are quiting because they can no longer cheat, even if it  'rarely' went on like Serpens said.  I would have more confidence if it was the devs that were putting them out, though.

Even so, I will keep my 3 accounts now.  It is better to have a small population playing the correct way, than to have a bigger population rampant with cheaters, even if it 'rarely' went on like Serpens said.

Well, the dev's impotence to regulate their own game mechanic and rules would make a level playing field quite an impossibility in a sandbox game.  At least they made this very clear and didn't try to hide it.  I don't know about 'angry'.  I think players will just come to an understanding of how the game  is being played behind the actual rules.    I have no goals of server domination, so the idea of an entire corp advertising that they break the rules in order to have domination only lessens my belief that the game will get a better population and thus is not worth the investment of my present time.

Lots of things are fobidden, yet they still are allowed.  Go figure.

The problem isnt a game mechanic, its a loss of faith in the dev team to control some of the basic gameplay elements.  An anology would be giving extra cards to players during a poker game, banning them, and then letting them play the very next hand.  To sit at that table is somewhat stupid if not frustrating.  To voice a concern over that is a far cry from calling for self attention.

The game itself has given seldom reasons to keep playing, and now, for some, it has given a few reason to leave.  I apologize if that is confused with rage or whining, it is just a simple truth of playing a game.

I agree that it's not much of a game when people cheat and the game runners do nothing but comply with the cheaters; however, the ones in which you are talking about seemingly run the show, even if their accounts are ambiguously owned or driven.

It might be best to voice your concerns on other sites that cater to mmo's, since the devs will simply lock this, since they apparently don't want to hear that they allow cheating.  I think that they think that people might stop playing a game rampant with it.

That sucks.  Sorry to see you leave.  I agree with what you said, but the game has a lot of potential.

Stocking up for the war.  Nic has no value in a war.  My kingdom for some epriton kinda thing.

Here you go.

Edit:
Dang.  No crap here.  I thought this game was FP2 then I remembered getting some game cards for my daughter to play.  I think you can play without paying, though it is limited.

The "epli" plant is purple like epi and one of the other new plants looks like a bloated nora potato.  I think they should be harvestable and refinable into  those pesky hard to get elements for industry.  And  they are growing.  I'm not sure, but do all plants grow, or just the harvestable ones?  I see them all over the place now, but not in large groups.

Is coffee free at buffets? If it is, I bet they use those paper filters that filter out the oil and most of the taste.  Might as well use a wet napkin from McDonalds.  Nothing tastes better than a fresh cup of pressed coffee in the morning while playing my subscription quality Perpetuum.

Found my ct's.  they were still in the factory, but I could not see them because my number of factory lines was downgraded.  It was saying 4/2.  After upgrading my available lines, all my ct's were shown.

That's why I have the smiley with the tongue sticking out to near right.  I am pretty sure that signifies dramatic irony in a video game forum.  I get my symbols mixed up though.

But I am confused about the deletion thing...we can still do that? And if you can, all the ep goes away?  Wow, drunken bummer.

The Arkhe actually looked menacing when it was at full speed.

This will come in handy when you want to do an account reset and can transfer all your nic and items to a temp characters while you delete all your stuff. tongue

What makes a game more justifiable to run when it's f2p?  I think at the subscription rate Perpetuum is at, it is either justafiable to play for you or it is not.  For the price of 2 cups of coffee I can play for a month.  If this game was f2p with microtransactions, it is still pretty much the same game, only I am drinking 2 more cups of coffee that month.

I had 2 ct's vanish from my factory lineup.  One completed and the bots were made and placed in my inventory, but the ct is nowhere to be found.  And one ct just vanished, but it was not in use yet.

Not sure if this is this patch specific, but I have not had this happen before.

nice words, but we did not point out that this game's sub acquisition curve was not the same as EVE's, rather that it was unable to hold a serious percentage of subs for a long"er" amount of time.

Also the point was not where those subs came from, but that the game did experience a new-player-influx which the game was unable to absorb. The fact that in certain amount of time that influx was actually eve exodus player base is thus mere irrelevant coincidence. A player is a player. We do not discriminate between wow, linage, eve, swg, .... players. (tho we make fun of wow players often tongue)

That's true, but the upward population from the Eve exodus was a synthetic population boost from a large amount of players that already were playing a game they liked.  The downward spike from the past 3 months should not be considered within the idea that the game is not retaining players.  A true number showing the retention of actual players would have to be disected from those who came from Eve and left to go back.

As for the implementation of the beacons and their effect on retaining players, I couldn't imagine it being a negative in any way.  It might not be perfect with its current drop rate or drops, but it is a well thought out feature that adds to the game.

Eve was horrible for a long time after release, but it was the only working sandbox at the time.  You can't compare their subscription sequence to that of Perpetuum.  And the influx of Eve players to Perpetuum should have no bearing in any argument about subscription numbers and their relation to game content.

From experience, I can tell you what a  huge deal Eve made out of their exploration implementation.  Eon Magazine had an entire issue with pages and pages of pictures and stories and faqs about the new system.  It took years for Eve to put that into the game, and it took months to iron it out and balance it.  Perpetuum added it as a small update.

Every nugget of content the game adds is a good thing in many ways:  it adds content for all players, it draws in new players, and new players add new opportunities for all players.  Beacons are awesome and seemingly simple.  If they can continue to add content like this, it is a win/win for everyone.

The games progression should not be judged by a contrast to another game and certainly not by a sub ratio.  The game's progression should be judged by just that -- the games progression.  Content added can be judged independently of the game itself; however, in this case, I think the judgment’s outcome will be great.

1 platoon beacon out of 5.  None from level 1's and 1 from 2 3's.

3-2-8-5 are all Fibonacci numbers.

1 month after the Star Wars game come out would be my plan of attack.

A. This game will be patched and expanded far beyond its opening day presentations.
B. The biggest hyped game that people are planning on playing will have been out, and the players who were waiting for it and decided it was not for them will be looking for a new game.
C. Star Wars will still most likely be working through bugs and not have added any new content.
D. It will be cold out, and people wont be jet skiing.
E. They need much time to work out a good advertisement.  The web page looks fine, and look how long that took to iron out and shine.
F. It will give the company time to gain some financial resources that will allow the company to stay in the black while spending money on the gamble of advertising.
G. The company is still plannng a server move of a large distance.  To have the bulk of your advertising money spent before this move would give a growth that would be, or could be, hindered by this move.  It's best to wait till the servers have a real home without future plans of movement.

I usually see one on, but I mostly refrain from any general chat talk unless its to help someone out for something or talk about the golden ratio.  I know they are busy answering pm's, and I rarely see them chatting in general, though their name is there.  One of my corpies had a problem 2 nights ago, and it looked like it was just over an hour before it was resovled.

Awesome job.  Considering how you made the money, I think that will be the high score for a long time.  The market has always eluded my efforts.  As a former options trader, now English teacher, I give you kudos for making money in an unreadable market.  Who cares if you have 100bil from mining?  Making 800mil from the market is a great feat.  Perhaps you should look into my former profession as a side job/hobby !

Why not just alpha starter islands?  What was the name of the griphon in eq1 that circled the common lands and killed all the newbies every 50 minutes or so?  See... I might not have enjoyed it at the time, but it was cool.  Protect the newbies.  Go ahead.  On Alpha 2's, let us be killed by killer bots.
