I'm amazed that nobody has jumped in yet with the old argument about internal corp markets being implemented to simplify the trading between corp members and if there was no corp market the items being traded would just be traded with tradewindows.

I'm also amazed by how long sentences I can write. wink

Always fun to read comments from newcomers. big_smile
Missions are a grind sure, but all fun in Perpetuum is done with others IMO.
Glad to have you aboard and don't forget to tell your friends. wink

Check out "Fuel For Fire". Some cool Aussies in there. smile

It actually wasn't a troll question sad Player interaction would seem to be the major selling point of an MMORPG over a Single player RPG. I understand some players prefer the NPC side of things, but this is presumably because its different from PvP or other forms of player interaction. What I'm asking is why would you then want the AI to be more human like, when it seems the reason to enjoy it is that its not human like?

Also confirming RL ganking is bad smile

Someone's trying to do a game without npc's. Interesting to see how that goes.

"Like Dofus, Wakfu is a tactical RPG, with a job system and creatures to fight but unlike Dofus, there is an emphasis on an open, player-driven world, lending a sandbox feel to the game. There will be no NPCs in Wakfu, and the entire economy will be player-controlled."

Can you explain why so many peaple seem to want a game that has grafics as real as possible, instead of leaving their house and interacting with the actual world?

Because if you grief people in the actual world you might go to jail?

For those that want just instant gratification pvp, not having to go grind out nic to replace bots, will never 'graduate' out of the arena and into world PVP, because the loss to recovery time ratio will be too discouraging. Mixing no-death PVP arena's with a full FFA world PVP game... is there any examples of this? Has it been tried before?

Dazamin - did you ever see what someone can do with your field can contents after he has hacked the pw?

pull - delete - pull - delete - pull - delete .... im sure thats an easy macro to do.

it doesn't even need a single round fired to destroy the content of a field can.

As for the Island numbers, and sorry to compare to the 'other game' but I would say that the Eve devs making a huge game world to start with was one of the smartest things they did, you will have to search hard for anyone either then or now who feels the large game world is a negative part of the game. I'm not really sure what people think will happen with a lot of Islands? The vast majority of players will still form into groups that will occupy one or more Islands. Some will live in the middle of nowhere, some will live close to Alpha, PvP corps will live close to areas of population, some corps will go out and explore. Some Islands will be completely empty, but I don't see that as a major problem, if anything, it will add a nice sense of scale to the game, of large areas of unexplored land just waiting for some enterprising corp to set up there.

Very well put! I don't see the downside of a bigger world. It stimulates small corps because there's no room for them on beta. It's sad that small groups can't do their thing without joining a bigger group.

Arga wrote:

Devs can always add more land in, taking it away is more complicated. My suggestion is simply to release a small amount of gamma islands. 2 new items, and 2 major adjustments later, a more conservative approach may be less distruptive.

I however don't see a reason not to expand it gradually either. Just as long as it gets big eventually. smile

yep.

two t2 smalls, and one t2p medium, works fine with good mining extensions, but is slower then 3x t4 small

Only fair that mining bots can have lolfits as well. wink

This is how ide prefer the game map to be set... Not every island class has the same amount of TPs.. some have 2 others 3 & some islands are hub islands...

this was just something i threw together to illustrate what i mean.

I think it would be cool to have what ive shown the the right side of the map gamma islands spread around a Beta 1 Island that could be NPC controlled.

This I like! smile Hopefully more of the G2-type islands/contintents..but still a very nice sketch!

Right now about 19000 people are playing World of Tanks only on the NA server.

Compared to Perpetuum having around 300 players.

Question is...

..what does a tank have...that a mech doesn't?

Being this way here, before a very different (pro) crowd i will at least get them to articulate their pro-change arguments better. I am not this way to troll in any way, this is just how I see the picture, even if my arguments are not always understood, just remember that!

I think some facts are lost in last commentators statements smile

Production wise everything in this game is safe on alpha, except for epriton mining and some noralgis harvesting. Which in my eyes constitutes an virtually unlimited world size. So the only reason left to be on beta is really the action of PvP, and given action doesnt come quick already...why on Nia would you want a larger world?

The argument of not enough room for pvp to flourish simply doesn't hold. Those that adhere to it, clearly have a clouded view by other motives.

It's not so much that there's no room.. It's more that anybody can reach anybody in a short amount of time. Where do you think pvp'ers go to look for targets? Anywhere and everywhere. It's just too easy to find them.

IMO distance is better than walls to protect yourself on beta. There should be a small risk of some random pvpgroup finding you..just enough to keep it tense.

Concerning rewards on beta... I really think that the further out you go from alpha the better rewards you should get. We need to put incentive for people to actually move out there.
I don't agree with you about the only reason to be on beta would be pvp. If it was? Why do we have so many corps out there living and building walls as we speak?
Because people like to have a piece to call home. Hokkalliance, Statecorp, TOG..why aren't they on alpha?

I type too much.. better stop now..

...yeah..and what Sundial said. ^^

With scarabs logistics have become extremely simple. Yes you will have to escort stuff in and out, but you won't be as easy to harass because you will be much farther out. Also you hanv't thought the inter island teleporters...

If corps are constantly harassed living on beta, they won't be able to produce much, and if they can't produce much, they won't be able to PvP. The increased distance will help with this.

PvP hotpost island will develop based on who lives where.

The game world is way too small as it is.

I agree with ya here mate... make a game world bigger than what you need & let to population grow into it

+1 both comments

I agree SO MUCH with this. FFA pvp doesn't work when a world is too small. Give us more starsys....ehm... islands!

If you're an ewar-pilot and at the same time a kb-whore you're doing it wrong. tongue

I think he's looking for an extension that lowers the cpu requirement for weapon tunings.
But there is no such extension.. so data processing is the only way to go. (or try and get other extensions that lower the cpurequirement of other modules you have fitted)

Alexadar wrote:

I see the issue only in research system what is a goal, not a process.

I fully agree with a process based system. It would also be nice with a system where you specialize in different modules and/or bots effectively spreading the research/manufacturing over the server:

Player A researches/manufactures ammo in a day or two
Player B researches/manufactures ERPs in a week
Player C researches/manufactures grophos mk2 in two weeks

But what do I know about industry? tongue

Arga?? Where are you?

EHm..this topic was about something else though right..?

well

Player A could make "Annihilators supercompositecore slugs" (+2 damage)
Player B could make "Alexadars notnerfedERPs"
Player C could make "Villes pink grophos"

A trialplayer has issues with the "combat" section of the new tutorial.
I haven't tried the tutorial myself but apparently he can't reach the next step after firing the practice targets.

His words:
"The combat part of it goes nowhere after we learn how to find and engage the practice target

at least it should say "completed"  then move to the next step , it does not"

Has anybody tried the new tutorial or do we have a lot of trialagents getting stuck? wink

HI!

Edit: Good idea smile
