I guess it's up for the devs to consider whether they wanted to also nerf "logistics" to the degree Gothmog stated, given the rest of the comments seem to be "suck it up" and not challenging the numbers.

In all honesty there was a point recently where I realized that I was spending too much time with reading the forums and moderating them, while neglecting my real duties of developing the game. I'll try to balance it out in the future, since obviously I am needed here as well.

And sorry for being off-topic.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't? Happens in every game.

"Working" the forums and distilling whatever comes from them, however, is I'd say part of developing the game and despite all the angry/annoying people that you can find there's also good insight specially coming from people who don't happen to like this or that change. I don't know about more artsy types but it is certainly not something I'd want someone writing code to do because it quickly gets them frustrated with the "time wasting" in a similar way as having to sit through a meeting or presentation. Get someone who likes that stuff and can work as an interface when needed rather than just a buffer/voice for you devs.

the patch tomorrow will be a rather small one. Mostly fixes (disconnect, highway speed skips)

THAT IS actually BIG!  No more rubberbanding! Yay!

Highways, aka Rubberbandways.

I replay freespace in my head from time to time. Great game, they even released the source code a good while ago.

He's not the only one where it has gone way worse after the patch.

Sorry for OT, but that's the reason I will always stay with Windows as for playing games I do not want to deal with scripts that only work for whatever specific specifitaions of this and that...

Sorry for OT, but If windows is so easy and so straightforward then why am I always asked to please fix this windows related problem or that one?

A toggle for these effects would be welcome by everyone. After a few hours at a teleporter you start to go a bit insane, and I don't want to imagine how it is with multiple simultaneous accounts.

If you have 3 accounts why dont you use one to loot your wreck?

Isn't there enough pvp/games at stations and teleports that you want to introduce something that will further promote this, in addition of removing possible targets from the map?

Jump gates? Just say no.

You mean stuffs like the awesome plasma drop nerf?

Or maybe how all the non mission spawns are moving toward these new random mob spawns so new players have a harder time with pve since they can't properly fit themselves to face a specific bot type and will now have bots thrown at them they are not equipped to take?

Ya good stuffs.

IMO the random mob spawns specifically should be an alpha 2 and beta island feature.

The plasma nerf means new corps/players will take even longer to get themselves into competitive levels of equipment and have a harder time re-equiping after death.  I do not see this nerf lowering the prices of equipment much as those who already have money can afford to keep buying stuff at its present prices.  The plasma nerf was unneeded and will only contribute to further decreasing the pvp action as death is now even more costly.

Yes, I mean all that. And also the missions that you apparently forgot. All that is PVE related, and it is balancing. I can make the same argument you are making about plasma with the triangle and I don't think anyone could honestly believe not removing it would have been better for the game. The devs want you to make X / minute doing Y, and is probably balanced with other stuff. If there was enough open market offer prices would go down. Unfortunately there is not so prices will remain with absurdly high margins. And that is the real issue at the moment.

Also you have missed to state the related fact that if you sell the plasmas in beta you will get more nic for your efforts.

For the record I am new, too late to the triangle, and the few nics I have came from PVE.

The current direction I see Perpetuum going, does not bode well for the PvE faction

Go over the last patch notes and see how much is specifically pve related and how much is specifically pvp related.

There must be a middle way between certain death (being lockable while protected) and knowing nothing can happen to you after undock. The distance change you propose sounds like a reasonably good compromise.

I am rather quite disappointed. It seems my post, which contained actual content and rationale for supporting the idea, got removed because I also /signed it. Apparently I'm not allowed to discuss the merits of the idea if I also express my agreement with it.

I joined CIR a couple days ago. I found a corp that does believe in teamwork, that encourages activities for beta pew pewers and industrials alike, that does not attempt to make your perpetuum experience a second job at all and that instead prefers to make your play time an enjoyable one. In the end you will participate because you will want to help yourself, your team mates, and the corp forward. Just remember, when you see complaints of novastrov blobbing what they actually mean is that we value teamwork and we are eager to enjoy a fight, be it on the losing or on the winning side.

I am posting on my own initiative and have not been even hinted to do so by anyone at CIR. Join for Great Justice!
