my 2 cents:
Stop messing with current content and give us something new.  Nobody will start/stop playing this game because of L-demobs.

FYI: new does not mean: changed, balanced, tweaked, modified, revamped, polished, etc.  It means NEW content.

+1.  it cant hurt at this point.

Zoom if you could commit to doing a Monthly update even if it was nothing more than a progress report to say, "Hey guys we are 75% done with XXX." Include stats from the killboard such as top corp, top agents etc. Links to any fan generated content etc and always include that flyer from the payment change model. Announce any upcoming sales on steam or ingame. Send that out via email to every registered email and keep doing so until they opt out.

A few days maybe to create a template and then a few hours a month to update and send. This will do loads for this game.

+1 (monthly or quarterly would be ok)

It's also possible that they are at the edge of their home range and can't attack you from there. It was either this or they follow you to the end of the world. But this will go away anyway when we remove fixed spawns.

It will be enough to expand their radius to 1km (instead of 500m). Really.

1.5k would be better.  We could still get fits to hit it at 1k

Inda,
I applaud your desire to help this game, but I do not think the players paying for marketing will help.  The game had a big steam green light, followed by a steam launch then a steam sale, but we are no better off then before.  What marketing will get new players to come AND STAY?
You recruit the most new players, do you ask them what they like, don't like and why they never stay?  It is not that we can't get new players, its that we can't keep players coming back to play.
If players want to 'donate' to the game, it should be a coordinated effort by the game developers to make a path for that.  Crowdfunding and other ideas have been discussed in other posts, but w/o dev interaction, it is just pissing $$ away (w/o the punch to the ***).

Guys, I would ask, how we could see the Beta 2 Changes if the Beta 1 is that long to implement?

Wouldnt be better to make some "cool" things from the roadmap to the rest of the year, so the Christmas players could see some news.

Beta 2 will be probably postponed due to this, but it would be stupid to stop Beta 1 at this point.

+1

Pump out the beta 1 changes and trade the beta 2s for new stuff.

Question:
Will Beta 2s get the teleport changes and will this effect removal of sparks?

Get Zortarg's guide to perpetuum. The link is in the MOTD of the help channel in game.  It is the best single document you can have.

30M a week is a one-time payment for someone who's been stockpiling ore, prototypes, and T1 mods to recycle. Put up facilities, do what you need to do at max efficiency and vgg.

How many prototypes/CT's/Commodities can be pumped out in 7 days? 30 mil is CHEAP for max efficiency compared to the requirement of actual Gamma investment.

true. I was thinking the same thing

That's why I suggested players might like to just be able to terraform.  Make the unused Gamma islands (the ones not in game atm, not the unused gamma islands in game .lol), PVE terraform-able.  Make players rent space and then let them terraform gamma 1.0 style.  I bet players will pay to be able to terraform more *** formations.

I wasn't kidding about minecraft type players who would play this game.  Which could increase pop and lead to other gameplay.  Just leave off PVP, production and

Sounds like we could get into the ArcheAge issue. Land will become a premium and some will be left out.

How do we stop some corp (plus multi alt corps) from 'occupying' all the plots on a particular island?

Why don't they just 'tax' all non-faction items. ie. green bots and equip get a tax when sold in red and blue terminals, red get taxed in blue and green, etc.  This would help make factions an actual thing (right now the different syndicate factions have nearly zero effect on the game).

Without terraforming, how could we drop bases on alpha?

I think we would be better off just making the current non-used gamma islands into PvE zones (though return the old terraforming v 1.0).  We could get all the minecraft kids

Let's face it as soon as the syndicate supply shops online we have instant content as we have access to a more direct way of obtaining T4+ and I want some gauss Seths with t4+.

say goodbye to mining, production, and markets (lol, we don't have a market) and say hello to token grind online.

After Beta 1 and 2 are implemented with field terminals and taxation, it will be time to move on to NEW content instead of rehashing old stuff.

As much as I agree that this is the right way to go, I just don't think we can wait for the Beta 2 mission update.  2+ more months with our thumbs up our a$$ is just going to drive the last of us away.  Implement this change for beta 1 and then move on to something new and exciting (fix the highways and TPs on beta 2 though).

Can most people agree PVE keeps newbies around.. PVP keeps vets around?  Hey Zoom what did you think of my NPC Siege island that was "Instance" Based?  http://forums.perpetuum-online.com/topi … ge-island/  And what did the player base think?  It was mostly hi-jacked by people asking for T5 stuff

Most of us can agree that PVE keeps the 'masses' around and busy (whether waiting for PVP, waiting on EP, waiting on friends or just to get a few casual minutes on-line).  Hopefully we can all agree that new content is needed to keep this game living (and not just massaging the same old content we have).

Your idea is one of a dozen ideas that we can recommend, but the DEVs need to decide which one they can tackle. Other ideas may be just as entertaining, but maybe harder or easier to implement. 80% of their time should be devoted to NEW content. Ex.

- PVE Siege instances (sounds like a raid dungeon to me) smile
- Intrusions/Rifts that randomly occur
- More bots/modules.
- How about Gamma 1.0 terraforming islands with no PVP (isn't that similar to what all the minecraft kids do).
- New GUI - in and of itself wont help, it would be a prettier game that was still boring
- A PVP tournament island
- Siege equipment (artillery)
- remember the pink colored bots and mustaches for my gropho

The remaining 20% of the DEVs time should be focused on QoL, balancing, end game content (pretty much most of the DEV poll that was put out a few months ago).

TBH: Devs should finish Beta 1 revamp and missions, then do a quick tp/highway revamp of beta 2s and skip the beta 2 missions (cause its gonna take ANOTHER 2 months to finish) to start some NEW content.

I think the tier 5 will miss that mark cause it will just make T1-4 obsolete (like T1-3 currently is 95% of the time).
I think the premade syndicate bots will miss the mark because (again), its just another form of rehashing the same things we have.

The only answers i've seen so far make the game more hardcore not less. This game is so niche its not worth playing. Everything other indy games have done to get success they turn their nose up at and because of that it should have died a year ago.

How much more 'hardcore' do you want this game.  When you lose a robot, Dev Zoom comes to your house and shoots you in face?  How about when you die from NPC, your account gets perma deleted (unlike the not so perm ' I am leaving this game... until I return' deletions).

The problem is that when new players activity increases, old players like a rawen swarm assault and chase them everywhere. Just because of they can. They have a lot of robots, a lot of guns and a lot of EP to be able beat noobs.

I still can't understand the DeVs, when they filmed that video on alsbale. When couple M2S just murdered toons of newbies under Brightstone. That should be a signal for them, but nothing has been done. Lot of ppl leaved just because of such injustice but DeV's still going follow the dead-end EvE-online EP politics.

I remind you. Eve dies. It had good popularity because of it released in the time of lack the good games. There are no inflow the new players. At the same time old players leaves it one by one.

It does not sound like even a EP cap would fix the problem as you see it.  You want vets to lose EP, stored up assets, the knowledge of how to play and the organization that they have created (well, some alliances are organized, some.. not so much).

Why were noobs out under BS?  Did they not have enuff to do on alpha, no pve, no indy, no fun?? That is the true problem.  the DEVs need to create fun content to keep players engaged.  then they become vets too smile  The DEVs need to shake up this game, not continue polishing the same content to meet our whimes.
IF new kids want pvp with no bot lose or easy mode. Maybe DEVs should look into building that for them.  PVP Tournament areas or group pve events (intrusions/rifts/whatever you call it), not silly limits for players who mostly cant be bothered to even log in and get more EP.

If one does not log in (at least to the char screen) every 3 days, EP will stop.  That is incentive whether you are an old player or new player.
If you pay money to buy a booster you don't have to do this.  That might be incentive to pay not to log in or play.  Again new or old players.

Allowing EP to accumulate should not be tied to any of this.  That just limits what people can do

Your proposal will just make it so vets will log on, skill up something they might not need just to stay under the 200k cap and if the game ever interests them enuff and they find a reason to spend EP, they will have to downgrade skills and spend ICE/$$.  Not the model to make happy vets nor create equality between old and new players
